But if you go by Samsung's manual, if you go with any other filter, it could void the warranty. Maybe when the warranty runs out I'll use generic. Nothing wrong with the filter itself, though. Lasts around 6 months.

Pretty good filter

So you are required to use 2 per year. When you change the filter out, it does leak water for several days after you dispense water.

My only complaint is that it is VERY difficult to install. I had to call my son-in-law who is a body builder and ask him to do it. It still took him 20 minutes to get it in.
