The indicator light on the Samsung fridge lights up in less than 5 months, even we don't use it a lot at all, (only for ice-making and occasionally drinking). Don't know whether it is the problem on the filter, or the problem on the fridge itself. But the filter is expensive.

This happens depending on the quality of the water in your area and the amount of water you dispense, you may want to change the filter more or less frequently than the light suggests.
