This version brings this movie to life. The water and all the details of clothing ,all look stunning. This is a showcase movie if you have a Big Screen tv to watch it on. Colors are Great! Skin tones dead on correct. Lots of action in this one and with the outstanding quality of the disc. This is a must have for your collection.

Sorry for all those haters, you know who you are, but this is a great movie, just like the Postman is. Kevin Costner is superb in both films, and if you have not seen them yet, you are missing great movies. This is a classic doomsday movie and has superb roles by all involved. If they would have had a 4k Steelbook is the only way this would have been better!!!

I was really excited to screen this and see how much this popped in 4k. For the most part, its a beautiful upscale. Unfortunately, it just missed the mark of being truly amazing because there were many scenes in the film that were soft and it was noticeable. Regardless of that, there is a lot of good to come out of this. Many gorgeous scenes and the audio is top notch. If you have a great sound system, this is a must own.

So this movie won’t that great. However this blu ray transfer is. The sound is nice and the picture quality is good. I know there is a 4k version coming out, but this blu Ray is more than adequate for this movie. I got it on sale, and if you can get it cheap go for it. Yes the movie is bad, but I think this blu Ray is a fine presentation.

A timely classic this film is. Considering I got the chance to view it when it first came out in the 90's, I was very surprised that the quality of the film transfer was on point in keeping the visuals together. I enjoyed viewing it and the upgrade from the original versions of the film was excellent!

Beautiful movie with some bad acting and a shallow plot. It really has no character development and its a little wet behind the ears.

one of the most expensive movies made at the time it was made if i remember correctly. good old 90's action film. they dont make movies like that anymore. RIP Dennis Hopper. He always played the villain role well in all his movies.

Biggest box office flop in cinema history. An inverted mad max that was still very fun to grow up with as a teenager.

An interesting take on global warming gives us a silly premise but a pretty good story. I have not seen this movie since it was on Laserdisc over 20 years ago. Now with a new 4K transfer, Waterworld comes back to life. Kevin Costner has a great performance as the unnamed Mariner. The 4K video and Dolby Atmos sound track deliver.

This is my 2nd copy of this movie, my original is on Laserdisc. This 4k version is awesome, the visual detail and sound are incredible. This type of movie with big detailed backdrops, and expansive open shots really comes to life in 4k. Also the cast of Costner & Hopper make for so.e real excitement.

If you’re a fan of this film, this is definitely worth it. I wish the extended edition was also restored in 4K but not a deal breaker. The biggest drawback is that it doesn’t have a Dolby Master track. If your soundbar doesn’t DTS support like mine (Sonos Arc) you might just be buying this for the Digital Copy.

Surprisingly great detail for an older movie, was worried the HDR wouldnt carry over well. Lots of action, different kind of dystopia, movie deserves a prequel or sequel more than most.

Surprisingly good re-release of an old movie. This 4K version adds lots of improved clarity and color. I put the movie on just to check out any improvements in video quality over the original bluray version and ended up watching the entire movie. The clarity of the 4K release is captivating.

Awesome movie and very nice in 4K! This is one of the most underrated action and apocalyptic movies ever. The premise, setting, and actors all make for an epic and entertaining adventure. Its like Mad Max of the ocean.

Great audio and picture. This is still a great movie. I am glad to have this great movie in my 4k collection. I have 100 4k movies. I know you didnt need to know that but i am making fun of all the dorks that write dumb reviews.

First of all this movie is an absolute MASTERPIECE! To own it on 4K is a dream come true! A classic in 4K with definition and great quality you can't go wrong! I highly recommend this movie, and especially in 4K! Thank you Best Buy!

With time this classic Kevin Costner & Dennis Hopper movie improves with time! Adding the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray clarity just improves the move more!!

Waterworld is a guilty pleasure for me. This iteration is a great video and sound presentation. Be aware though that the Ulysses version (extended) is only a 1080p presentation.

Good movie but returned it because the disc was loose in the case.
