Crazy fast
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For years I have been using WD for my storage solutions. My main purchase of this WD - Black SN750 NVMe SSD 500GB was to replace my Intel Optane 265 GB on my Alienware Aurora 7. Installation was quick and easy didn’t take me more that 10 minutes. I have migrated my OS over the WD SSD and I can tell the difference in terms of startup and saving files its crazy fast as my default storage was a regular HDD. My startup became fast like I’m using Mac OS. Happy with it.

Excellent Boot Drive
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's become a cliche at this point that going from a hard drive to an SSD can transform a computer. What doesn't get quite as much attention is how going from a SATA SSD to the much faster NVMe PCI-E drives can be almost as dramatic. All the usual talking points concerning SSDs apply here. Using this as my boot drive, my desktop takes only a few seconds to boot up. Resuming from sleep is essentially instantaneous. Games spend a lot less time in loading screens, etc. The main reason to pick this one over all the others really comes down to things that aren't always clearly shown on a spec sheet - things like mean time between failure estimates and warranty support. These are the areas where the WD Black series sets itself apart. It may not be a great choice if all you're looking to do is add a few extra years of life to an aging laptop - but if you're trying to pick an SSD for a new desktop you plan to keep using for 5+ years, spending the extra money for a component with this kind of pedigree will end up saving you in the long run.

Best price/performance you can find
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This drive is FAST. Most reviews settle on the SN750 series as the second best NVME hard drive on the market. I would agree with this assessment. Add to that a lower price, and how miniscule the speed difference is between this and the go-to EVO 970, and you can't go wrong with this item. I have purchased 3 of these now. 2 1TB models for new builds, and this 500GB for an upgrade. All 3 perform excellent. This consistency is important to me, as time is money is my repair business. Having a product that performs well at a great price is the secret to keeping my rates low and my business high. The SN750 is just such a product.

Nice M.2 2280 upgrade to my Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed more space in my Dell 13 inspiron 7000 with Windows 10 and got this NVMe, prior I did some research to some other name branded but finally got this, I was a nice upgraded doubling my current y 250GB to 500GB hard drive. Yes, the 2280 (longer M.2 does fit in the Dell 13 inspirons, you just have to move the current 2230 to the other side or remove it all together, make sure you do a fresh install on windows prior to installing the original m.2 or you'll have issues booting up.

Cheaper alternative to Samsung 970 Pro NVME SSD
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid, I get 3475 MBps on read, and 2980 MBps on write speeds. Boots my PC in 12 seconds from power to desktop. The size is decent, it's just my boot drive so need to have 1-2 TBs of space. Cons: It gets hot, I've seen temps above 80c benchmarking. Normal use 50-60c and this includes a metal heat sync with thermal pad from my motherboard. Running consecutive benchmarks will drop your write performance as the drive heats up. I wouldn't use this drive if you're into heavy video editing, heat could be an issue. Gaming, music, and probably pictures should be ok.

Ultra fast boot times for Windows 10
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Western Digital's Black NVMe 500GB PCI Express 3/4 drive was an amazing addition to my gaming PC tower. The product was inserted easily into the Motherboard M2 connector and after booting the PC and entering the BIOS the PCI Express device was recognized. After rebooting the device was initialized and I transferred the previous boot drive files via mirroring software. The third reboot used the Windows files on the NVME drive with a 14 second boot time. All other programs executed without problem. A very cost effective upgrade for any PC.

Fast value buy!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! What a great value. I was in the market for a Gen 4, but the price of this Gen 3 was awesome. I decided to purchase and transferred my OS from a standard SSD to this and the difference is uncanny! Very quick! Couldn’t beat the price for the storage and speed! I have 2 slots on my Mobo so I may eventually get a gen 4 in addition to this, but this will allow me to wait until the gen 4’s go on sale if I even decide to get one later as this one is doing the trick!

WD SN750 is a great all around drive.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this SSD on sale and have been very happy with it's performance. It's r/w is better than my surface laptop can handle through USB, so I haven't been able to take advantage of it's full capabilities. I originally bought it to use as a boot or secondary drive for a ATX build, however, the other components have been near impossible to get, so I just threw it into an NVME enclosure to use as a "jump drive". It came packaged well, and has done everything WD claimed it will do (within my abilities of testing). I would recommend this for good quality storage. There are other, cheaper, drives out there, but this one meets my needs. ******* WD was caught doing some shady S#*t and selling drives with inferior build components. Look it up. Mine was not one of those drives. They did eventually 'fess up to it once they were called out. And, they did make it right with anyone who was effected. But this is not a review of the company, it's a review of the SSD. Final verdict: There are cheaper 500gb NVME drives out there, but this one looks nice, and comes from a reputable maker. The price was right, and performance is solid. I would buy it again if I lost it today. Also, I don't need PCIE 4 so I'm not worried about that. Chances are, you probably don't either.

awesome drive for the money
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got it on sale for 79$ with the best buy price match guarantee. western digital has them on their website for that price and BestBuy price matched it after I showed them the ad. funny part was I already purchased it online to be picked up, I was still searching the net to make sure I got the best price and when I saw the other ad for a lower price I called the 800 number talked to a really nice lady and she confirmed what i was saying and a credit was issued to me the next day. she said it might take up to 10 days to hit my bank account but nope, it happened asap! couldn't be happier with the purchase honestly. this drive competes with the Samsung evo series. I own this one and the Samsung 970 pro plus and they are both very similar. both write at awesome speeds.. its hard to tell them apart honestly. both look the same and the read and write speeds are so close I honestly cant tell a difference. so either buy this one or the Samsung 970 pro plus if you can afford it, if you cant this is the next best thing. and honestly I don't even know if I can say the Samsung one is better. this one price per dollar is way better. tho best buy does have the geek squad remanufactured ones on sale too.. well they did don't know if they still do. you can get a 970 pro plus for 99.99$ at 500gb from them. but this one is just as good and can save like 20$ :) never forget to take full advantage of their price match guarantee.. never! its one of the reasons I shop here.. that and the ease of pick up during this covid-19 stuff. they run it right out to you! awesome sauce

Very fast and a reasonable price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a blazing fast PCI Express SSD at a very reasonable price. Unlike many competing products, both read and write performance are very good. There's not much more to say because it just works. If you have a motherboard with a slot for an M.2 2280 PCIe SSD, I urge you to take advantage of it with this or another model in the same line (but with more or less capacity).

Really Fast!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just finally put my new rig together and it is noticeably faster than my 8 year old computer I am replacing. The new computer started right up and immediately recognized th WD Black drive. I installed Windows 10 Pro on it and it's running like a champ. There is nothing quite like an M.2 NVMe drive. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Easy to install and amazing performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a drive that is as easy to install as it gets. Just make sure that you still have the screw and standoff from your motherboard (no SSDs come with it.) Format it and your good to go with your high speed SSD. I highly recommend this for anyone that wants 500gb of high speed storage for quick transfers and quick gaming.

Excellent M.2 drive.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Huge improvement in boot times for my Mother's PC. Replaced an older SATA SSD. Definitely worth the upgrade. Installation went well. The screw that holds the M.2 drive in place is on the small side, make sure you have a small screwdriver. Value is good at MSRP and excellent on sale.

Performance win
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome performance. Impaired this with another WD black drive and could not be happier. Price is on par with other high end drives. The WD management software allows you to easily monitor performance. Read and write speeds and life. Great for all users
