This SSD is lightning fast and has given me exactly what I needed, more space for games! Installation was super simple and read/write speeds are even faster than the PS5’s already insanely fast internal SSD.

Easy to install and set up. Not as easy as sliding in a memory card behind the console and just playinf whats on your card like rhe Series S/X. Still way better then payinf 1/3 or 1/2 the console price for 1TB of memory.

The worst thing about the PS5 is the lack of storage space. It only comes with about 600GB really and after Call of Duty fills half of that you really run out of space fast. But with this drive adding another terabyte you will have more than enough space to play your games and switch out with ease. I added several old PS4 games that I like to play every now and then and still have hundreds of GBs of data to add more. It's a must have item for PS5 owners and it IS worth the cost. It's also very easy to install if you watch a few people show you on youtube. I was afraid of damaging the PS5 but it's super easy. Use a kitchen knife if you don't have a small screwdriver.

Bought for increased storage on my PS5. Easy install and great speeds out of it. Using it to store PS4 game data to free the internal SSD for PS5 games. Highly recommend.

If you have a PS5, you need this. I was between this and the 2TB variant, and this is more than enough for me. I'm someone who usually plays a game and deletes it upon completion. However, with the new PS Plus tiers, I have downloaded a few games to my library and I needed space for it. And anyone who plays COD, knows that the game takes up excessive amounts of space. So with this SSD, I was able to move about 10 games over to it, and still have a lot of space remaining. It's easy to install and games launch from it really fast. You couldn't tell a difference. So definitely worth the upgrade!

Actually faster than the internal SSD that comes with the PS5. Super easy to install and having that extra 1tb is essential with these massive games lately.

Got this as a gift for my birthday. The drive is very fast and a great addition to any PS5.

I was a little worried going into opening our ps5, but realized that pulling off the covers didn't require unscrewing anything (it's slide off covers). However the compartment for the ssd has a cover and requires being screwed in. This part has nothing to do with the SSD (as the WD_Black has been working great so far), but the tiny screw that needs to be unscrewed on the ps5 prior to inserting the SSD was screwed in super hard. I couldn't even use a screwdriver, I had to use the tiniest/skinniest pliers that I could find as the screw was starting to get stripped.

Thw WD Black SN850 1 TB w/ Heat sink is a great an easy SSD upgrade for the PS5 it was affordable and eay to install my only regreat is i maybe should of just gone with the 2 tb but otherwise it works great.

As long as you update your PS5 to the latest version, this is literally as simple as popping the side off the console, taking off the cover over the M.2 slot, and plugging this bad boy in (a lot of videos out there to see examples). Power on and and format the drive, and you're in business. Honestly, kudos to Sony for having the moxie to actually (in a sense) promote people getting into their consoles to upgrade them, and with third party parts that you can price shop around for and actually use for a PC too if you ever decided to take it out of the PS5 (looking at you Microsoft/Seagate).

This SSD is very fast and super easy to install. I caught this on sale and could not be happier. With games getting larger and larger, you have to have more storage.

As the title says, I installed this ssd in my ps5. When I first formatted it, the read speed was 6583/MBps. Most games load instantly on this drive, but some still have the same loading times. Horizon Forbidden West literally loads the second I press to start it. Installation was very easy. You just have to slide one of the covers off of the ps5, then unscrew the plate that covers the empty m.2 slot. Install it, put the covers back on and you’re good to go! I would recommend using a #0 philips screwdriver. If you’re looking for extra storage, this is definitely a great option. I will probably get a second one for my laptop :)

Great price from Beat Buy. Easy installation while I was cleaning my PS5 fan and just clipped it into the available slot and tightened a screw to hold it in place. Would highly recommend.

Was easy to install and setup. Definitely a game changer compared to the ps4 setup for extended storage. A little pricey, but hopefully larger sizes will become the norm and will be more affordable in the future.
