So I am running a high end machine and I needed a reliable stick without a heatsink because my mobo has thermal pads and 4other pcie slots I built my pc my self and I only had enough initially for a Samsung 9100 1tb which my boot is on so The read and write speeds of the wd are amazing no problems so far it’s performing well it is 200-400gb away from capacity but I put all my large game files on to the drive and it boots up the same so you don’t need to pay the Samsung tax The difference if any is not visible… Yes I would recommend this product I don’t have any images of the product because I would have to take off my heatsink and I don’t want to do that the next time I do take it off will be for a 4tb

amazing storage that is definitely worth every ounce of its price! With astronomically high storage of 2 terabytes you can fit in all of your favourite games and other applications needed without worrying about running of of storage. Very easy to setup and put into the motherboard and has very quick speeds for it to read and write data and so this makes it quick to launch games or any other apps that you may need to use in a short notice. Due to its high speeds, games run technically fast than other types of storage devices leading to much higher fps. It is also high quality so I expect it to last me for many years to come. Finally, it doesn’t get hot at all meaning that it will not fail me when running my pc.

The WD 850x is an excellent and extremely fast drive (7300mbps) that I use in my main machine although I do recommend to put a mini fan on it to extend lifespan as anything over 5000mps does tend to generate some heat. I have and use a variety of WD HDs and nvmes (7700 for laptop , P10 - backups and daily use, Blacks - various machines, Blues - eco friendly machines, LOVE the NAS reds) for different applications (work and home) and they are all excellent and reliable units that have not failed me yet. Compatibility has not been an issue either. This technology has come a long way and the key to keeping them running smoothly is proper mounting, installation, maintaining firmware updates, and cooling. Thanks out to WD for these products and making my life easier and faster at home and work.

Installed it in the PCIe 4 slot. Using it for a gaming drive, so far have installed 3 games on it; the latest Witcher 3 update, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Skyrim SE modded up. All three feel much faster loading and saving, I haven't noticed any lag or stuttering in game when moving through the open worlds. In some simple benchmarking I saw the advertised 7300 MB/s speeds. Great drive.

I loaded up my Gigabyte B650I Ultra with 3 of these things and man. Took it like a champ. All jokes aside, these drives are fast. I've got a 1TB OS drive, a 2TB for personal files and photos (RAW format off my Canon SL3), and a 4TB game drive. It would have been 4TB for photos and 2TB for games, however, games these days are getting larger and larger. I've used Samsung 980 Pros in the past, but I wanted to give WD a try this time. I have a 4TB external from them that's seen 5 PC builds over the last 8 years. I'm expecting these WD Black SN850X drives to live up to the same standard. reliable and fast storage. so far, it's been a solid experience!
