The drive worked well to store my games for the first few months. I began to notice games not wanting to launch which then led to freezing the entire system. I tried to access folders on the drive, but it would also freeze the system. I tried to uninstall all of my games in control panel from it, but the games won't populate for about 30mins then freeze the system when I attempt to uninstall. I've spent 2 days trying to contact support from WD and after waiting about an hour, it would tell me representatives aren't available. I tried to register the device and it claims it doesn't exist. I highly discourage anyone from purchasing a WD product considering it's short life and lack of support. However, if you buy this drive, be sure you buy the geek squad protection plan since WD is impossible to contact.

I recently bought this hard drive that was installed into my computer but recently has been glitching and doing a 3 secound black screen pop ups then it returns to my page this keeps on happening while using the computer not sure why its doing that I'm gonna have best buy checked it out Not good quality hard drive plus over pricing ) :

I've installed several SSDs now... this is the first issue I've had. The setup process uses a 3rd party Acronis for WD software. Basically it would hang during the cloning step. I worked with WD but after several days I gave up. I never got a resolution to my case. I returned this to Best Buy and purchased a 1TB Crucial drive. That installed with no issues...the Acronis for Crucial seems to have been a different version. ALSO - - I want to give Best Buy 5 stars for the easy and safe way the curb side return process worked. Great Job Best Buy!!

Used this to expand the memory on a laptop that I had lying around that still had some uses in the garage. This SSD is certainly faster than the old HDD, but I didn't need it for a real performance rig, just to nurse along an older laptop.

Can’t tell you much since it’s still in the box but the box is decent. If it works I’m sure it works well.

Normally I would recommend this manufacturer product line as I have depended on them heavily for mechanicah drives for years. I am sad to say that the performance of these SSD drives leave alot to be desired. I was UNABLE to successfully complete a drive to drive data transfer using this device, even after 7 attempts.

Was told me hard drive would make my computer lightning fast. Not only is it slow, but now I can’t get it to hold the wifi signal. My other computers have no problems, but this thing just isn’t doing it. I’ve brought it back and had support work on it as well. They can’t come up with anything. Very disappointed.

Preferably slow read-write speed from what it was advertised.

Doesnt boot as fasts as the m.2 on my other pc but I guess that good enough

In addition to the great price for a 1TB drive, this drive is fast!

It did its job. Nit sure what else to say BB tech used it to save my data.

This product would not work with Acronis software. Even when contacting WD support and them adding a plug in to the software, it still wouldn’t clone properly. I tried to use windows restore with a fresh back up and remove able media, the SSD failed. I returned this product. Wouldn’t be so bad but I purchased and returned a Sandisk SSD and a previous WF Blue SSD for the same reason. I ultimately purchased a 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD and it worked perfectly with Acronis software. These may be fine for adding storage, but don’t buy to upgrade an HDD to SSD.

this works ok but not as fast as my samsung nvme is!

I spent hours trying to clone my hard drive to this HD. Always showing no boot device. Ordered a Samsung SSD and got it working at the first try. Returned the WD and not buying again. The refund is taking too long to get credited to my account.

I really not a fan of this products idk why but for me I like Samsung better. This product maybe better or something but for my honest opinion not I don’t like it. Sorry you maybe like it better than me.

When I picked up my laptop after it was installed, the screen turned gray and grainy. At first they told me it was a cable, but then they took it back and “fixed it”. Now, less than 3 weeks later, I’m having the same problem.

I finally was able to try to install this in my computer and the hard drive doesn't work and I can't return it. Now I know why I shop on Amazon most of the time.

Not having much luck with this one connecting with my MAC computer. I have tried a few suggestions as to how to make it work and they have made the connection yet!
