And awesome boost in speed compared to HDD

Simply put, I have been using an HDD for years and I'm rather mad at myself for not upgrading earlier. I was so used to clicking on a picture that was locally stored and waiting 5-6 seconds just for it to open. Even my explorer windows were painfully slow as well as general functions. It didn't seem to matter that I had a 6 core 12 thread processor in my system because the day-to-day functions were bottle-necked by my old hard drive. Installing it is no problem since it uses the same SATA interface as the old hard drives and can be easily screwed into any drive cage. I then fully cloned my system drive to this SSD so I could use it as my (C:) Drive. Looking up a tutorial on youtube helped me to get the program I needed to clone the drive, and after that, man did this thing feel like a new computer. All I have to say is that I'm never going back to HDD's unless I need to create some kind of archival mass storage server. I just hope that they figure out how to fit more storage on these little things.

Used it to replace the one inside my old apple computer and it’s made it fast and useful again. Plus I don’t think I’ll ever fill up the 1tb but it’s useful in case I do.

Breathe new life into an older computer!

I bought this because my roughly 6 year old Lenovo laptop was painfully slow. Virus and Malware scans and deleting old unused apps, files and other "junk" only helped a bit. I was hoping a new larger drive (solid state) might extend it's lifespan a bit and make it more long term reliable and not lose my data when my old hard drive gave up the ghost. I cloned my computer onto this 1T SSD and a minor miracle occurred! My startup time went down dramatically and everything from scanning my photos to changing from one file or document to another sped up hugely. It's acting like a brand new computer and is no longer painfully slow to operate! Considering how much these SSD drives are now, it was money well worth spending. My "vintage" computer has a new lease on life! 100% satisfied!

Okay, I went looking for a basic SSD to allow me to dual-boot Ubuntu and Windows 10 on an HP laptop. This drive has been good so far. No problems with physical installation, partitioning, installing both OSes, and running it for day-to-day use. I'm not a power-user on this laptop, so I can't tell you what it would do for gaming or video-editing. I can tell you that it's been responsive and improved the performance of this system over the 5400 rpm mechanical drive that originally was installed.

Great Drive, Very Fast compared to a Regular drive

Great drive, it is very fast compared to a Regular drive, but not as fast as a NVME. For the price you cannot go wrong if you want to speed up your PC, or just upgrade an old drive. One advantage is that since it is SSD it has no moving parts. So bumps in a laptop will not affect it. The Acronis software that you download does not work like the paid version. SO, if you're going to Image your old drive prepare for issues. The paid for version of Acronis worked, like it should.

Rebuilt my Dell Inspiron 15R laptop with I7 processor (originally purchased in 2013) with a clean install of Windows 10 using this new SSD drive. Original disk drive had failed. Installation was painless. It completely transformed the PC's behavior. Start up takes a few seconds. Launches Chrome and web pages nearly instantly. Seems to use less power and generate less heat as the fan now never runs. Very pleasantly surprised. :-)

Best Buy is really the absolute best place to purchase this drive. The pricing is great and you get the latest tech, including 3D NAND and 5-year warranty. This WD SSD fit perfectly in my case without having to remove my old drive (WD 7200 BLUE), which I left in place in its original bay. There is plenty of space in the slim case. Just removed the SATA and power cables and re-attached them to the new SDD. I upgraded to Win 10 (this was free for me) and created a boot USB drive using the Windows Media Creation Tool, which I downloaded from the Microsoft Website. Then, went into the BIOS, changed boot order so that USB was listed first, and the rest went very smoothly. The increase in speed is crazy good. The WD SSD Dashboard software shows my interface speed is SATA 3.0 with 6 Gb/s connection speed. My real world performance is great, so I'm' not going to run actual tests. I did this upgrade along with increasing my RAM from 4 GB (base) to 8 GB by adding a Crucial memory card, along with removing my pentium CPU and replacing it with a Core i5. Overall system performance is great. When the time comes I plan to reconnect the existing drive to the PCI-E slot but need a card for that.

I bought this for my laptop. I had a regular 500gb hard drive and I was running out of room for my iTunes music and movies. I've built all of my own desktops and I've used several different makes of hard drives, but I've never had any problems with Western Digital. I had an SSD in my desktop and I loved the way it performed. So, I decided to make the leap to an SSD for my laptop. What a difference. It boots up in about 15 seconds. It makes my 5 year old laptop run faster than it did when new. Plus the added benefit of extra space was a no brainer. It says it is a 1TB size drive, but is actually a bit smaller. Guess they rounded up the number. But overall, I am happy that I paid the extra money for this drive over a regular HD.

...and that's the best part about her! The drive works great, way faster than an HDD @7200RPM and the price was right. I recommend this SSD to replace an exisiting HDD for a low cost performance boost. My system has decent specs and this SSD made my experience a million times better. There was no software to clone drives but that was ok I prefer a fresh Windows install. I only use WD for my storage solutions and have yet to be let down.

I purchased and installed the 1TB WD Blue last week. I used Macrium Reflect and with some tweaking of settings- I successfully cloned my smaller 500GB ssd with out any problems. I use my computer for home use and all kinds of programs as photoshop, word, spreadsheets and use 2 monitors. So far I have noticed it to be a bit faster than the smaller drive but I am extremely pleased with the performance, ease to install.

There is NO BETTER PS4 upgrade than a SSD

Purchased WD Blue 1TB Internal SATA Solid State Drive from Best Buy. Purchased Samsung - 860 EVO 1TB Internal SATA Solid State Drive from Amazon. Installed a FRESH OS 7.5 on both "drives" for a release PS4 PRO and compared speed. The difference was negligible and not worth the price difference. If anything the Western Digital brand matched my 4TB WD External Drive so I am using the WD in the PS4 PRO and the EVO in my PC where the difference was noticeable from the WD. Western Digital inside! Western Digital outside! All good. Basically, any SSD that is faster than the WD/Sandisk SSD will not be better in the PS4 PRO due to the limitations of the PS4 SATA architecture. Stick with a cheaper, reliable, "good enough" SSD. For the price of the 1TB EVO I could buy the 1TB WD SSD and a $60 PS4 game. The EVO is not bad at all, but in ANY PS4, slim or Pro or whatever, there is no benefit to the fastest general consumer SSD, the Samsung 860 EVO. You're just wasting money. The WD Blue 1TB Internal SATA Solid State Drive is MUCH faster than the stock internal hard drive by a crazy long shot. WD and done.

I thought I had to upgrade my entire computer because it was so slow, but then I heard about how much faster some fellow shoppers' computers got when upgrading from a traditional HDD to an SSD. I thought I'd give it a shot and start-up time went from about two minutes to about 15 seconds! Programs open faster as well. It's an amazing difference! I did have some trouble with configuring the drive. I had not installed a brand new drive in years, so I forgot that it first needed to be initialized within Windows. That part was easy after a quick search. However, I tried downloading and installing the partition cloning software from the WD website and it would not recognized the drive as a WD drive, thus it did not install. I had to find another third-party app that did what I needed it to do. WD and the software developer gave me the runaround, each claiming that the other was responsible for my software conflicts. If not for this issue, I would have given this drive five stars.
