Great Upgrade!

Once that was figured out, things went rather smoothly. Upgraded from 256 G to 1 TB and things run much faster. Need to download the free program for ghosting the original drive in order to complete the prep for installation.

(Video & Music files) The PC doesn't have an m.2, or even any expansion slots for adapter cards. I had to work with the SATA ports on the motherboard. I installed this WD Blue SSD for faster processing at a STABLE speed. I had tried a hybrid drive, but when the video files got larger than the SSD part of the hybrid drive I would get processing errors when the transfer speed slowed down. That's not an issue with a full SSD. The speed is bottlenecked by the SATA interface, but for my needs that works out for the better since it results in a stable speed for the full process.

However, I notice no difference between this drive and the more expensive Samsung EVO that I put into an older MacBook Pro. I put this dive in an aging HP Pavillion to rip my Blu-ray library and it totally revived that laptop. I could have gotten away with a smaller drive, but for just under $100 why not...

I love WD products, they last forever and work great! It’s easy to install and you can can also download the WD dashboard from the their website to help you maintain the health of your SSD, check the performance, update firmware, and safely erase data, etc. 10/10 would buy again.

Must have to upgrade hard drive

All my other ssd that I have used were crucial mx500 but the speeds were a little better on the wd so i went with it. I cannot see much difference between the two ssd but the improvement it made from the reg sata drive was a huge improvement. no more lag

Excellent SSD

All of my working files are on it. They open and save quickly. My C: drive is a smaller, older SSD that contains Windows and programs. The two drives in conjunction with each other are very fast. I still have HDD for the storage of pictures, videos, etc. I would buy this again if I needed another drive this size.
