This upgrade allowed me to keep using my ASUS portable and operate at like new performance. I highly recommend this type of replacement and switch to solid state drive. Save money and upgrade your older computer with this, you will not regret it.

I've had this in my PS4 for over a year now and haven't had any problems. You can easily find guides on YouTube for how to set it up for a console. Takes some time, but it's not all that difficult. Definitely worth it for the space and speed though

This WD-Blue 1Tb SSD replaced an existing 7200 RPM Seagate 1Tb HDD on a Windows 10-based Dell XPS8700. Boot time with the existing drive had gotten to be over a minute, sometimes several minutes. I used Acronis 2018 to clone the existing OS drive. Once the cloning was complete, this drive took over and the speed, especially on boot-up was amazingly fast - less than 30 seconds. So I have no issues with this WD SSD and am happy I made the jump.

Excellent solid state hard drive for my 2017-18 Asus laptop. My computer is now really fact and no glitches with playing videos on other websites, You Tube, etc. A great price for a superb unit. Very happy with the conversion. Highly recommend for 3-4 year old laptops.

Perfect Upgrade for my laptop. Easy to format and clone existing hard drive to upgrade the HDD in my laptop. Boots much faster now. Seems to access data faster than my old drive too. Would recommend to anyone looking for affordable reliable HDD replacement.

I used the free Acronis software from WD to clone my Seagate hybrid 1tb drive. The software download and cloning took less than 20 minutes. Installed this on my HP Envy x360 laptop that was purchased in 2016 and that takes a few minutes to open because of the 10-12 screws. So everything was about 30 minutes and now I have faster boot/shut down times. Programs open much faster and I'm thinking about buying another for my desktop in the future. I have multiple drive bays and at this price it is totally worth the extra storage space. I bought this because my laptop had a very long boot up time and closing the laptop was easier than shutting down. Having a 1tb storage space is very good as well even though I use an external hard drive for everything else.

Got this product with a pretty good price, after the good experience on my wife’s laptop. I would rather preferred picking it up at the store though, delivery was a big mess, and I understand not because of BestBuy, but it affected my whole buying experience on this. FedEx put the product delivered on Saturday, it ended up never being delivered until the next Wednesday. Installation is very easy if you know how to disassemble a laptop, faster than my old hard drive even after a data cloning with a dual OS partitioned disk. Overall highly suggested.

    Safe choice

I think overall, WD as a company is a pretty safe choice. As for performance, it's also a pretty safe choice. You can find faster SATA SSD, but for the price and storage capacity, you can't go wrong with this. If you want to go any faster, you might as well look into the NVMe SSD's. As for real life performance, I see no issue. It takes a few seconds from pressing the power button to (excluding the time for me to enter my password) the desktop. It blazed through all the installations (games, softwares, etc). This isn't anything special, but don't sleep on it. It regularly goes on sale, so I'd wait for that because then it's a super bargain. If you're thinking about getting a bit more speed (i.e. getting Samsung's), I would say don't bother. Unless you're going the NVMe route where you'll see at minimum 3 times the speed of an SATA III, an extra 100 MB/s isn't worth the extra price premium.

Great value @ $99 sale price! Great option to replace an old hdd. Software to clone ssd available for free online @ the Western Digital site and was extremely easy to use. Western Digital has been a reliable brand for years. After 1 month of use have encountered no problems.

I have purchased and installed these in each of our two laptop and two desktop computers. The Acronis software, available on the WD site works well. Just make sure you get the 2020 version. Not sure why the 2016 version is there. It would not recognize the new SSD. Other requirements: You will also likely need a USB to SATA adapter cable for the cloning process. I got the Sabrent EC-SSHD. For desktop installation, remove the cover on the case to see how the HDD is mounted. You will likely need a 3.5" to 2.5" bracket. Again, I got the Sabrent BK-HDDF. This bracket can be side or bottom mounted in the computer case. However, be advised, the new 2.5" drive is center mounted in this bracket. For case mounts where the SATA drive is offset to one side, you will need another bracket. Option: What do you do with a perfectly good HDD. a) keep it as a backup for your system, or b) get an external enclosure, reformat it, and use it as a backup data drive. I bought Sabrent EC-UASP enclosures for my two excess 2.5" HDDs. This is not rocket science. Follow the directions and you will succeed. The increase in speed over a HDD is noticeable on any computer, and is definitely worth the cost and trouble.

It’s a fast reliable hard drive. My laptop drive was acting up and upon diagnostics, quickly needed replacing. Best Buy had several sized drives in stock and for the price the 1TB drive is working perfectly.

Purchased this item for an older Dell XPS L702X laptop. The L702X is a real aficionado's system that was overbuilt ages ago but was running sluggish with its original 500GB HDD. This speedy SATA SSD was a drop-in replacement, super-easy to install, and provided a terrific performance boost, reducing Windows 10 boot-up times from 40+ seconds to just under 10 seconds. WD drives include their licensed version of Acronis True Image, and that makes cloning (and backup/restore) easy as pie. This is probably the 20th (or greater) WD SSD I've bought in the past year, and every single one has been super reliable, with zero failures thus far. Best Buy had the best price, and had several available in my local store, with a pair ready for me to pick up within an hour of online purchase. Recommend both WD SSDs in general (especially Blue and Black Series), and Best Buy for their attention to prices and customer service/support.

I bought this to upgrade my PS4 (non-Pro) hard drive from the stock 500 GB mechanical drive. What a difference it made. Not only do I have much more storage (about 860 GB total size after formatting), but it also performs much better. Previously I was having issues where even the PS4 menu would lag and I'd find I overshot what I was trying to select or it wouldn't register selecting Netflix, for example. Now the menu is snappy. Games are loading up quicker as well. There are still load times, but they are definitely less.

This WD 1TB PC SSD was a much needed upgrade of a 300 GB HDD that came with my original PC. It was easy to install and has wonderfully performed as a second local drive. No glitches and no worries with a Best Buy (BB) purchase because I know BB will stand behind their products.

Was running out of space with the existing 500 GB SATA in my laptop. Also wanted a SSD to speed things up. This WD SSD filled the bill. It arrived nicely packaged with very little in the way of instructions on how to clone my existing drive to the SSD. Called WD tech support and they were quite helpful. They have a $25 upgrade kit with cable and Acronis software that lets you clone your old drive while it is still installed in your laptop, then open up the laptop and switch the old SATA drive with the now cloned SSD. Shipping was free, the upgrade package arrived in 2 days, and the cloning process worked like a charm and I was up and running with the new SSD in a couple of hours. Highly recommended with the upgrade package and significant improvement in performance. Like getting a new laptop for $125.
