With anything mechanical and truly high tech the ultimate criterium of value is how well it works, and for older people like me, how easy is it to use. Answer here is that Best Buy Geeks did the work, explained what it is and how to use it, and all has gone smoothly and easily. No need for a learning curve. So it is working perfectly for me.

I got this drive to use just for storing games on my PC. I have other WD SSDs and have been completely happy with them. The performance they provide for the price is pretty good, and this one is the perfect size for all my games and then some.

I recently bought a HP Omen and it only had a 256K SSD installed. That was too small and so I wanted to increase. I ordered online and installed the SSD with no issues and no installation related concerns. I'm very happy with the product which tucks neatly inside the cabinet.

So far this device has operated better than my expectations. I am extremely happy that the Best Buy employee in Omaha suggested this for my application. I am also happy that my best buy (Grand Island, NE) was able to complete the upgrade.

I debated about switching out my Sata HDD for this SSD but caught it on sale and I'm really pleased with the uptick in performance I am getting from this drive. Easy to install.

Quality SSD for under a $100. Make sure to get some mounting brackets for your tower if you do not have any. Great for being my hard drive on my gaming rig with better speed. I would recommend like all the other positive reviews which led me to purchase one.

I purchased this to upgrade my daughter's fiance's laptop from a paltra 240GB mSata drive to a full 1TB boot drive via one of its two empty 2.5" slots. Well built WD quality as always, the process was straight forward and now he has 4x the space and the drive is much faster and runs cooler.

Bought as a replacement for a 1TB HDD in a mac mini(late 2012 model). Relatively easy install (not as easy as a traditional pc due to size of the mac mini). Installed a fresh copy of Catalina and transferred all my media and document back in a jiffy! This SSD has breathed new life into my mac mini.

I had my entire photo library on an external hard drive. It was slow and caused a delay when my computer accessed them. Bought this and transferred the photos. The computer now loads them as if they are on the internal hard drive. Must have is you have an older computer and want to give it a little pep.

Double my computer's storage needs. This drive is very fast.

Okay drive if the price. With the price of nvme drives coming down don’t use this for a boot drive. But is good for less played games and other media storage.

I got this for my laptop as a secondary drive, and it worked flawlessly out of the box. I don't nitpick on specs, but the performance is great for loading games. It may be a little more expensive than other products for the size, but you're paying for guaranteed quality as well.

What a wonderful improvement in the speed of my laptop. Wish I had done the 1TB SSD upgrade a long time ago. I delayed as I feared it would wipe out my installed programs. Best Buy installed the SSD and cloned my laptop with every program intact. Thank you Best Buy.

This drive is a no-brainer replacement for any existing SATA hard disk drive, whether in a desktop or laptop. It fits perfectly in a laptop; desktop drives are larger, so you either need to put this into a 2.5"-to-3.5" adapter or let it hang loose. This drive is significantly faster than a traditional ("spinning rust") hard disk, but - because it plugs into the same SATA interface that traditional hard disks do - it's not as fast as the latest M.2 drives that plug directly into the motherboard. Choose this drive to upgrade an existing computer, or to replace a failing hard disk; expect a speed increase but not a miracle. In nearly all cases, you won't need to install any software or make any changes to get this working; just plug in the SATA data and power connectors and Windows or Linux will recognize it immediately. (Transferring your data from the old drive is a different matter, of course!)

Had two laptops upgraded with solid state hard drives. The Geek Squad staff was helpful to provide prompt service and information that enabled me to make the best decision regarding the hard drive replacements. The laptops are now performing much better!

My husband bought me a new laptop and the amazing hardrive. I loved the laptop and harassed him a bit because I didn't think a SSD. He insisted and installed it, and I'm so glad he did! My laptop boots up in seconds. It's amazing how fast it is. If you're thinking about getting one... DO IT!

If you haven't upgraded to an SSD from a spindle-type HDD, do it. I replaced my laptop's standard 5400 RPM HDD with this, and the difference is night and day. Should fit most laptops and desktops that have a standard 2.5" disk drive spot, or with an adapter it'll fit in a 3.5" bay as well.
