Save your money and don’t waste it on the Uber-high end SSDd unless you are literally making buttloads of money from your computer where split seconds mean the difference in earning thousands of dollars. These WD blues suit a very reasonable budget and perform exceptionally well for the average consumer or productivity enthusiast. Very fast load times, copy times, and generally overall smooth performance. Had a WD black and honestly had nothing but problems with it. Have never had an issue with the blue, and saved a ton of money going a step down. Consistent performance is worth more to me than occasionally high performance riddles with frequent crashes I got from the super fast black. Save money, go blue.

This is a solid SSD. There may be faster NVMe SSD drives these days but the price on these are so much more reasonable now and more reliable than a spinning HDD these days.

One of the best upgrades I’m made to my HP LAPTOP. The boot up is so much faster when I have to restart my pc. Definitely worthy the price to speed up an older laptop to get work done.

I purchased this as an upgrade for my toshiba laptop that had a 5400 rpm very slow spinning drive (mechanical). I used a drive dock to replicate from old to new with very good results. It took about 2 1/2 hours to replicate from an 860 Gig spinning drive to this new drive. Computer booted up with new drive without even having to detect in bios. Amazing how much faster the computer is now. It went from 15 to 20 minutes boot up, login and initial load to less than 2 minutes with the new drive.

Everything you want in a SSD. Fast. Stable. Never have to worry about a physical crash. 1TB means you have a excellent amount of storage, and Best Buy had them for a great price.

I've had it a while and finally installed it today. Set up was easy and the cloning process worked flawlessly. I've had several hard drives from WD before and never had any problems (other than crashing after years of use). This is my first time installing an SSD. The True Image software was easy to run (click Clone and away it goes). It probably took 20 minutes to finish the process but my computer started up right away and runs like it did before (maybe even a little faster).

I replaced the 1 tb HDD in my HP ENVY 360 with this drive. I had been unhappy with the performance of this laptop almost from the first day, even though it is a Core i7 with 12gb of ram, it ran much slower than I expected and boot times were ridiculous. After installing this drive the laptop performs like I expected it to and its all because of this 1tb SSD. I should have done this to begin with. I would have bought a laptop with a SSD but the laptops available had SSDs that were too small for my needs.

I bought this unit while on sale a couple months ago, (cost me about 75.00 at BB) and it's been a GREAT BOOST to the speed of my Laptop. Added an extra 8 gigs of Ram to it as well, BUT the SSD is the game changer. I bought the Apricorn Notebook Drive Upgrade kit for 30.00 to make the Cloning easier. Hooked everything up to my HP Laptop, inserted the CD for the clone and transferred EVERYTHING over to the SSD in about 30 min. Installed the new SSD and Booted up FAST and WITHOUT any BSOD issues! Only thing I noticed is my Mouse curser flashes for about 1 Minute, ( laptop booting up) and then it's fine.

SATA drive died in my media PC needed something new with a good size.
Got this on sale and man, the speed on this is unbelievable.
OS boots and reboots - no more disk loads on Windows like before and the OS and apps run so much smoother.
Definitely recommend if needing to update your drive.
I also purchased the CORSAIR - Dual SATA Drive Enclosure for 2.5" Solid-State Drives - Black to go with this and it fits perfectly.

SSD laptop upgrade

I’ve been looking at upgrading the HDD in my laptop to a SSD to get better performance and eek out a little more life from my aging laptop. This was a direct swap for my old HDD - same space, same screw holes to secure it, same laptop connection. I used a free version of acronis to clone the SSD. You will need to get an adapter cable to connect the SSD to one of the ports on your laptop. It’s not included with the SSD, so you will need to buy one. Been using the new drive for a month, no issues and markedly improved speed.
