Luckily, Best Buy sent me the newest version of this SDD. 3D. My computer is like a new machine. Incredibly fast start up and everything in general seems to run so much faster over the original HDD. Western Digital has a free cloning software arrangement with Acronis on their website. Yu must have a WD Drive to access it. Very simple process if you have a SATA to USB cable which I purchased from Best Buy for $25. I wish that I had upgraded my laptop long ago. Amazing difference!

I bought this for my older Dell laptop with the Intel I7 chip. It was getting a little long in the tooth and the storage was only 500 GB. Since I use this laptop mainly for my iTunes, I decided against buying a new laptop and installed this SSD instead. What a difference!! It's like having a new computer. I don't think it ever booted up, loaded programs and ran so fast as before. The extra storage is great. I can hold all my music, movies and pictures and still have tons of extra space for more. I love it. Now I'm thinking about getting one for my desktop.

Great SSD for laptops and the price is right. Works as expected and is faster than a standard SATA HDD.

Bought this to put in a USB 3.0 enclosure to add storage to my Xbox One S. Games loaded onto it load about twice as fast as before. Wanted to replace the internal drive, but didn't want to go through the hassle of tearing the whole thing apart. Overall, works like a charm, and would definitely recommend for external game storage, with an appropriate enclosure.

Perfect upgrade, now my laptop takes full advantage of its i7 and 8GB of RAM! The included free download of the Acronis True Image software works perfect, what worked for me is to download it, install it, and create the Acronis Linux USB recovery media. Installed the new SSD in the laptop, connected my old SATA hard drive with a SATA to USB interface and cloned my hard drive to the SSD. Flawless boot and performance!

After an unfortunate accident with my computer and gravity I needed a replacement hard drive. The sales associate recommended this to me. The ease with which it installed was incredibly simple and easy to accomplish. The performance of the machine has improved in that it is faster that it had previously been. If you are considering an upgrade for your laptop consider this SSD hard drive. The sales associate was very helpful as well.

This drive replaced an old HDD drive I had on a 6 year old laptop. Upon removing the old drive and replacing it with my new SSD drive the difference was immediate! The drive was replaced one year ago and I've had zero issues. My laptop runs lightning fast compared to before the install. I recommend this drive to anyone wanting to upgrade an old laptop. Seriously this is a great buy!

Purchased this 1TB model to replace a ten year old hard disk in a Mac Pro 5,1 and immediately noticed the difference in speed and performance. For installation in Mac Pro, it will require a SSD adapter (I purchased an OWC Mount Pro) to fit in the drive bay. Using the MacOS Migration Assistant made the transition a breeze to make this my startup drive, and after using WD drives for so long, I hope this will be a solid and reliable unit for years to come.

Rock solid quality and performance. I purchased one of these recently to replace 2 mechanical 7200rpm HDDs. My system already is a bit quieter and lighter, and having the increased speed from an SSD drive is wonderful for both gaming and file transfers. Between this and another SATA SSD drive as well as 2 M.2 drives, my system is now entirely SSD storage aside from one 2TB hybrid drive for larger scale storage :-)

I planned on using this as a temporary drive to store my project files on for work, but now I use this as one of my main drives. It works like a charm. Installation was quick and easy and I'm glad I made this purchase. And if helps, I'm a video editor and I work off of this drive and haven't experience any drops in performance. I just wish that I would've bought more space.

This SSD saved my PS4! I had the blue light of death for a week or so and after trying all the recommended troubleshooting options, I was about to contact Sony and send it in to get fixed for $160. I then decided that maybe the harddrive had malfunctioned (Thank you, YouTube) and to replace it with an upgraded SSD. Very happy I did! Saved me $50 and shipping costs, and my PS4 has an SSD now instead of an old school harddrive.

I have bought several of these in the last three months to update 2015 era laptops from Win7 to Win 10 and give them a quicker response time. I have consistent success with laptop drives using this sequence: 1. Perform Windows Updates for Windows 7 on the laptop. Get 'em all if you can. 2. Remove the original drive from the laptop and install the new WD SSD drive. 3. Attach an adapter to the original drive, like this one from Best Buy: j5create - USB Type-C to SATA adapter - Black Model:JEE254 SKU:5091216 (NOT INCLUDED) 4. Boot from an Acronis True Image, cd or bootable USB drive or flash drive. (NOT INCLUDED.) Easiest Cloning tool I have seen. Worth having even if you have to pay for a copy. 5. Select True Image then Tools then Clone Drive The rest is easy if you allow the Acronis to automatically adjust the partitions, but depending on the disk size it can take a long time. Remember that the Source drive is a slow, platter based drive in most cases. 6. The free Win 7 to Win 10 upgrade iso can still be found and used. I have a flash drive made a long time ago with this upgrade and it still works and activates the Win 10 install at completion. I mentioned that some items are NOT included with this product, it is only the drive with no mounting hardware or screws, no software and no adapter for clone the drive. Avoid disappointment and borrow or buy what you need while planning this sort of upgrade. You've been informed! I love Best Buy for reasonable prices all the time but if you find this for less elsewhere they will price match bona fide offers - I did it once on this drive and saved some money. All the other times I didn't need to!

Was skeptical about purchasing this product at first due to some bad reviews, but that turned around once I bought and installed the product. Installation was easy and using the software from the WD website, I was able to clone my hard drive and the change was immediate. Turns out my old hard drive was the culprit and installing This SSD improved the speed and response. I highly recommend this product.

Easy to install and made a huge improvement with the performance of an Asus gaming laptop with a quad core processor that had a non SSD drive originally. The Asus happened to have two internal bays so installing the new SSD in the second bay to clone was simple. Go to Western Digital website to download the cloning software and then swap the drives afterwards so Windows 10 sees the new SSD as the boot drive.

I have 3 of these...they stand up against everything else on the market and for a reasonable price. I've never had one bit of data lost and I get consistent speeds writing to these. I use them for video and audio editing. Super reliable. You will never regret it. If you have no clue what you're doing...get this and you'll look like you did a lot of research.
