you can shuck it and still use it

High quality, dependable, fast, and annoying.

I assume to save power or something. Then it takes like 20 seconds to spin back up when I need to use it again. I got WD black for speed, and its fast for a platter drive, but the delay between uses is extremely irritating to me. Some people may love this feature. I hate it. Going to splurge on an external SSD next time.
