I ended up finding a lot more uses for it, now I use it daily. Very nice hard drive!

I shucked mine to use in my PC. The only issue I have is that it does spin down despite setting Power management to 'Never spin down' drives. WD Green drives behave this way also.

I love that it has 2 additional USB ports to charge with. TBH I haven't tried them but they will be useful in the near future and a feature you don't usually get with a hard drive.

Laptop hung during boot and bios options didn't help. Reformatted as NTFS and problem fixed.

Because of the way some companies calculate terabytes, Western Digital being one, this 8tb drive has more like 7.5tb of available space (also the data needed for administration of the drive takes up room). Hey WD, a terabyte is 1024gb NOT 1000gb!

Can stream video all over the house coming from the hard drive with no hiccups. Love it so much I bought too.
