This is my second purchase of the WD Black 8tb external hard drive. I have one on a PS5 and the other on a PS4 Pro. I mainly went for this model for it’s large size (the maximum that a Playstation can use) and it’s good loading speed. Sure, it’s not as fast as a SSD, but an 8tb SSD isnt really affordable. The cooling fan can get loud, but to be honest, I think the only time I heard it was during the loading marathon of transferring the game files from my 4tb drives to these. No complaints, if I need another large HDD, I will buy another one of these.

Operates all my games exactly as advertised. Highly recommended purchase, if you're looking for massive storage, and smooth gameplay capabilities!

I bought this because I was tired of choosing between what games I wanted on my system. I didn’t need this much space, however I plan on using it on other platforms. The format was quick and easy and it works beautifully. I’ve already downloaded every game I’ve purchased over the past 5 years. It’s just a matter of selecting one to play.

By far the best purchse I had on my PS5. I’ve never invested anything on my gaming consoles but this one was just something I needed to get. Transfer and loading is great for me others might not like it, as far as performance I love it.

Works great but still have to install starfield to your c drive to get the game to work. Other than that perfection

Using this with my Nvidia Shield to store Plex server data. The speed is great when copying files to it. My other drive was taking forever. I really like it.

Great price have it hooked up to a ps5 been using it for a while now. I definitely recommend if you need to expand a ps5 memory

I am consistently seeing 250MB/s writes over to this drive. About the best that can be expected from a spinning disk. The drive also auto-senses the USB and turns on/off automatically with my computer. I do wish it had an on/off if I didn't want it to turn on, but minor complaint. Overall I'm pleased do far!

I use this plugged into my PlayStation 5 and it has worked like a champ with no issues. The only downside is it can get loud when it is being accessed heavily.
