I’ve been waiting to buy a good external drive when I eyed this one at best buy, got it in online offer. Excellent product, looks sturdy, so easy and fast to transfer photos from my MacBook Pro. Happy with it, recommended.

My wife and & I are achieving family tree history with pictures, documents, recordings and it spends nearly 200 years! We needed a backup and safe area to maintain our records and Western Digital was the only answer. Thank you!

I received the drive yesterday and have spent the last 24 hours or so transferring files from the various other HDDs I have onto this one. It's great space for the price and it'll be nice to have centralized access to all my files.

I go this hard drive for a good price, eventually got sick of the slow nature of the USB connection, so I decided to take it out and install it in my PC to store video games (where I don't care if the drive crashes, as I can just download them again). Then I discovered that neither my Windows 10, Linux, nor the bios will detect the drive. The drive itself is just a plain old regular SATA HDD, and you can plug it into your desktop like any other internal HDD. It appears Western Digital has put an encryption system on the SATA to USB and power chip inside the case that prevents the drive from being used as an internal drive. I was not able to locate any way to get around it. So now I have a 10TB slow external drive, that is useful for backing up things I guess. But beware, that even if the hard drive is healthy, but the chip or the USB connection fails or gets damaged (from one not paying attention when one plugs it in), you cannot just plug it into your pc and recover the data, you have to pay WD lots of money to extract the data, which should be a simple process otherwise. Just bummed out and regretting my purchase.

Bought stacks of these to harvest them for my NAS. Much cheaper than buying that outright at the time. Easy to pull apart, and HDD are yet to go bust, reliability is good.

I record video on my laptop every day and in 6 months still have 2/3 of the space available. Few downsides are that it's not completely reliable for active recording to (I record to my main drive and then backup the videos to it). It also is prone to power surges as well. So if you suffer a power surge while writing to it, that is a problem as it loses it's connection when a power surge happens.

This is just what I needed for all my storage need. I've drop some stuff on it that I want backed up to this drive for safety measures. Let's see how long this drive last my other one is still going strong after years of use.

Western Digital is definitely my favorite hard drive brand. I had problems with other brands in the past, but rarely with WD. And getting a USB Flash drive with this was another plus! I can't recommend more their products!

Excellent hard drive with high capacity. The only gotcha is it goes into powersave/sleep pretty quickly so you have to wait for the hard drive to spin up when you read from/write to it after a short period of inactivity.

I've been buying Western Digital hard drives ever since I can remember first building computers and haven't really strayed from them since. I have a lot of files between movies, games, tv shows, music, books and pictures etc. that all over time continue to accumulate and take up more and more space so I have back ups of back ups and eventually needed one massive hard drive to hold everything from all of those onto it. So I saw this one sale, had a $10 off voucher and threw down for it coming out to $170 which for 10TB isn't bad at all. Have had it for a decent bit now and it's been running like a champ. Ended getting a 32GB flash drive with it too which I use to port TV shows or movies or whatever onto my PS4 which has been handy. Hard to argue when it's free.

This is my 3rd WD external hard drive that I've purchased and it meets my expectations as usual. I needed to step up my storage capacity and this definitely meets my needs. It also came with a 32gig flash drive as a bonus.

Performs really well at a great price and is a compelling offer and worth buying especially when bundled with a nice little flash drive. Looks great on my desk next to my computer. Quiet and runs cool! Great package!

This is my 2nd purchase of this brand. My 1st was the 8TB. Only thing I'm still trying to figure out is how I can secure all my files while it's left plugged in. Sorry, not that techy. But overall, highly recommended.

I bought this drive for my wife who does a lot of video production. It works perfectly for backing up all her files and keeping her workstation with plenty of free space. It' will take a while to fill up this bad boy.

Fast drive with lots of storage. I use it as a file server connected to my Asus router so it can be shared with everyone in the house. Makes backing up a dream.

I had never heard of the 'Easystore' line of external hard drives from WD. But I've generally had good luck with Western Digital, and the price was hard to beat. Working well so far. No install issues of any kind.

Perfect to shuck and pull the drive to be installed in a server (SATA Power and Data). Future revisions may be different....

This is largest size to get and still have a reasonable price. Catch it on sale and it would be well worth it. Easy to get up and running. This is Pre formatted, But can be formatted in the way that works best for you

I maxed out my 5TB external storage and I had to expand. Well this was the perfect product for an amazing deal at the time. Great read and write speeds. People on my local server can access my files with ease.
