I bought it for the fair price and large storage so I could transfer content from a couple HDD's on to one setup. After accessing it a couple times the hard drive started making noises as if the arm is scratching the housing case or possibly the disc itself. Hard drive has continued to make noise and corrupted a few files. Since I didn't get a warranty there was no use in trying to return it. I'll continue to use it till it truly dies and then go back to my backups or maybe get a better one. P.s. I never used the sub stick.

Due to WD using two hard drives in RAID formation, this external drive takes at least 5 times longer than single-disk products. It’s frustrating, but does work and haven’t had problems outside of that so far.

When I received the harddrive, the packaging was minimal, a few air bags with several of them deflated and inside a larger cardboard box. Didn't like the looks of the deflated air bags since that was supposed to protect it and keep it from being severely jostled. Hooked up the USB 3.0 connector to my computer and the power cord in the wall and heard a click almost every three seconds. I unplugged the USB and power cord, re-plugged them to make sure the contacts were good, and it seemed that the click were no longer there. The only thing I have done with the drive so far is placed a folder on it and realized a low sounding thud every 5 seconds was coming from the drive. You can set your watch by it, every 5 seconds, and you put your hand on the drive and feel the thud when it happens.

The hard drive is overall fine but i had a few reading problems at the beginning, but it solved by itself

I Understand that obviously it's not going to be a full 10 terabytes but a full terabyte under that's ridiculous. other than that it worked great.

If I have to unplug it ever it is so hard to get reconnected so that it shows as a drive on all of my readyshare devices. It’s a pain

Sometimes it stops working and if I type my password it refuses to type it either freezes or types a wrong alphabet. It drives me nut here

Product is decent for what i need it for, i hace large multimedia files i need storing and this is the best deal you can find for 10tb

Was on desk, tripped over cord, drive fell 38 inches, died. Sent to WD for repair/replacement and it was sent back not fixed as they claim it was abused and not their responsibility. Sea gate would have fixed a click of death hard drive and WD used to. No more WD if it costs me more to fix a drive that shoulda taken a small fall while insulated in a hard case.

Not very fast to load and upload data but could be better if the drive is a solid hard drive with no moving parts.

You have to reformat if you are using windows or anything outside of mac
