The hard drive is fine but I did return it just because I did not really need it.

Had a bad experience with 2TB purchase where the disk stopped working, hoping for a better result.

Discovered, a bit too late, that WD Security does not support this drive. I'd rather use proprietary security software than a 3rd party. Also, the bespoke USB 3 to Micro cord is WAAAAAY too short, so short it almost doesn't reach from my desk surface to the ports on my inverted PC build. I'd have returned this if possible.

Was a really good deal price for Presidents Day sale. I ordered it and it shipped in a few days. It was brand new, but when I opened it and plugged it into my computer it says "Hardware Error" I am going to BestBuy store to return it, not exchange it but actually return it. Its really big anyways and also you have to plug it into a electrical outlet for it to work, unlike portable external drives that only require power from USB plug into computer.

9 months old and only 1/3 of the storage taken up and its died. Xbox couldnt read it and light out on it, replaced the power cord(shouldnt have to do that either & everything is on surge protectors) power light now on but still cannot be detected by xbox. Tried a computer, still nothing. Deafeated the whole purpose of buying external storage. Alot of money for nothing.

Bought on dec 16. Now my Xbox won’t detect it. I’m stupid, as I thought “it was just a hard drive”, so no warrenty. Now I’m out all that money. Worst part is my 10 year old son still can’t play all his games at his leisure.

Rarely used - used for backup to backup for important documents. Drive failed. Hard to recommend after that.

Amazing drive to store about anything. Worked flawlessly.

Overall I am very satisfied with this disk. I use it as a backup on a MacBook with TimeMachine. It quickly processes data. As an example, when I did my initial backup of 400GB, that took only 3 hours. Incremental backups are done in a few minutes. I also like that the disk powers down when I power down my Mac. We don't like any noises at night; my previous Ethernet-connected backup disk was always on making little whiny noises. I do have some gripes. The documentation on configuring for Mac simply says to reformat. I did find some WD web info, but it did not have enough. After I managed to reformat the WD disk, I had no problems. Also, the disk makes some periodic light rumbling noises when working. They don't bother me much.

Huge amount of space from a company that has consistently produced reliable hard drives, in my experience. Used the software that came with it to reformat to HFS+ (drive is attached to a Mac) and didn't have any issues in the process (MacOS X 10.13). Now transferring tons of data from various smaller drives.

This WD drive works great. The 10TB amount is useful for anything from storing iPhone or Android device backups to XBOX One games. The 32GB USB is a nice bonus.

Years ago, I started out using Seagate external hard drives, then switched to Western Digital. I use them primarily to back up my 3 1/2 TB of photos as well as my Photoshop Elements backups of those photos. As the number of my photos increased over the years, I gradually bought larger and larger hard drives. I bought my first 10TB Western Digital hard drive last summer. Recently, I bought my first 10TB Easystore. The Easystore hard drives are incredibly fast at copying files. They are more than twice as fast as my previous external hard drives (including the non-Easystore 10TB Western Digital one). After seeing how fast they were, I bought 4 more. Every one of them is lightning fast. I hope Western Digital never discontinues them, as I am now really spoiled with their speed at copying! I absolutely love these things.

Using this drive connected to a loaded Mac Pro with an SSD. It is used primarily for two purposes. 1. As a server for VMWare Fusion to access infrequently used VM's from the Mac, and 2. as backup of data including videos. Very acceptable performance accessing Virtual Machines stored on it using VMWare, and when viewing videos directly from the drive. I would highly recommend this drive to anyone wanting a versatile reasonably priced large capacity external drive.

This drive is absolutely incredible. I got it during the President's Day sale and $169.99 is an amazing deal for 10 TERABYTES of space on and extremely good re branded HGST He10 drive. My speeds over USB were around 210 MB/s read and write, that's even faster than my old SSD! I will always buy these drives, such a great deal from a great brand.

Didn't have luck with my PSU and the 3.3v tricks to get the drive to work after I shucked it. BIOS would recognize it but would never get past the windows logo upon boot. Enabled hot bay in BIOS and attempted to initialize the drive within windows to no avail - endless loop connecting to Virtual Disk Service with eventual PC crash. I am running a software RAID so running the drive internally is a nice-to-have not a necessity. Transfer speeds on USB are plenty good for my media use, showing similar speeds as my internal WD Reds. Can't speak to the lifespan as I just purchased it, but I bought the extended warranty for good measure.

I got this for a decent price and I'm using it to store my Xbox One games. Works pretty well so far!

High quality and fast drive. Never had a problem with WD drive. Cannot say the same for Seagate, simply no more. No brainer for Black Friday price.

I bought this for my Xbox one X, with the growing size of videos games I hope this thing can handle however big my collection gets.

These are very nice 10TB external, data hoarder compatible hard drives. If you still wondering — just order one!
