I have several WD portable hard drive and I bought this one when I need a another large one. I was a little suspective with this item at the beginning since it was WD easystore, and I was wondering whether it was as good as WD mybook or WD element. After I had it, I found it was really a hard drive with good quality. It makes less noise than my mybook, and the processing is smooth and quick. Good quality, great deal!

I was not thrilled with WD drives in the past but this drive seems to be an exceptional bargain from $170 - $200, at 10 TB that's under $20 a TB and a FREE 32G Flash drive I took the chance and am not disappointed (yet). Pros: 10 TB, Free thumbdrive, seems reliable sofar, works on LAN and NAS and DAS (as external) Con: Oddly slow access and under stress timeouts (which are frequent with ALL newer high capacity drives) All in All lets see 2 years down the line what happens, BUT as a backup drive I can risk it and its a seriously affordable deal. With 10 TB's you can backup EVERYTHING, works well with Ghost 15, acronis (of which WD encourages) and has a better support software suite than most other HD makers.

I really like this external hard drive. The size is not too cumbersome and easy to connect.

Great deal, great drive when you catch it on sale! I've been impressed with the read/write speeds of this drive. Also, it's pretty quiet. Buy 2 so you have a backup of your backup. 10 tb would be a lot of data to lose and after all, this is still just a single drive unit! Oh yeah and how about that handy free usb stick? They work great too! I am using these as is and also as shucked drives (google it).

This is turning out to be a great purchase. I am pulling hard drives out of old computers to move ALL my stuff to ONE PLACE! Keep in mind that I have computers that have hard drives that won't hold a tenth of the space that's on thumb drives now. So I can put EVERYTHING on this drive and delete the unnecessary crap later! Having everything in one place also makes it easier to back that stuff up...just in case!

10TB for $160? WOW! This drive works excellent and I will always trust WD for my storage. I use this to back up my NAS and so far it has been great, and has even survived a fall of about 4 feet, while on, and writing data. I do not recommend anyone drop their hard drive, but this thing has been a champ so far. Only drawback is that is is 5400RPM but since this is a backup drive that doesn't matter to me.

The hard drive is great for backup of pictures, movies, files etc. Easy to use and fast.

I attached the EasyStore to my router's USB 3 port making it accessible to my network. I transferred @ 1TB of files to it for my media server and it worked flawlessly, but because of this I cannot evaluate the software that came with it. I needed a media storage location, not a backup for my PC. I have noticed the access time is slower than the MyBook 3TB I already had but it handles media streaming well.

This is a one stop shop forusers who have a alot of miscellaneous uncompressed videos, games and operating system iso files that the mount with daemon tools to keep the format unfettered. Now speaking for myself, Timmy Terabyte, they can't make a drive to fill my needs, at least not yet! In all seriousness, the drive performs very well and transfer speed is on par for a external platter spinning device.

Works great. Really quiet and fast. Use it on my xbox. Can store a lot of games on it.
