using it on windows machine, it was extremely easy set-up, No crap plug and play, and you have the option to go into your system setting and change the drive letter destination if you don't like what is automatically assigned, fast transfer speed I am extremely happy with this purchase, I would buy again.

It's an external hard drive. I got it on sale so worth it. I do reeeaaalllyyyy wish WD did not use that easy to break connector for the hard drive end of the cable, but oh well.

WD Easystore makes good backup solution

The WD easystore 12TB is a solid backup device. Used regularly and it has not died. It comes with a USB cable and power adapter. It’s not the fastest hard drive but it is not supposed to be. I will continue to buy large external WD drives, when treated with care they will likely last a long time.

All my Video Files at my Fingertips!

We film a lot of video footage and edit it to make YouTube Videos, and we've found these external hard drives to be extremely helpful! We bought an 8TB one a few years back, and it held about two years of footage. It was starting to get full, so I bought this one. Now I can have both hard drives plugged into my computer at the same time, and have all my video files at my fingertips! When I dump our cameras after a project, I create a folder for that project with the project name and month it was taken. Then it is easy to find whenever my husband is ready to edit it, I just search on a hard drive using the name of the project or month it was taken. No more searching through dozens of SD card trying to find the right footage! I know that solid state drives would probably load quicker, but for what we do these are a much better value. I would spend a ton on buying enough solid state drives to store all our footage, and I would be back to finding the right drive for each project.

Large capacity drive. It is a bit noisy so not as happy about that. I had issues getting it to work with my iMac initially. It would run the back up once using time machine and then would not work again until I restarted the computer. Found article online that stated not to install the software that comes with the drive. Once I removed it the drive worked. So the only issue is it is loud. Hoping it lasts.

Western Digital is by far the best hard drive maker on the planet. My roommate used to work there, so I guess I am biased, but truth be told I've never had a single hard drive failure. I have had a bunch of failures with Seagate!

I e finally decided to consolidate all of my hard drives. I’ve had hard drives since the early 2000’s and back then a TB wasn’t common and very expensive especially larger ones. I have about 5 hard drives all between 100GB to 500GB. So to be able to fit all 5 hard drives into this and still have space is amazing.

I have had this for a couple weeks now. I lucked up and got it for a great price. It has good transfer rates using USB 3. My drive personally is quiet and doesn't have any vibration to it while powered on. The only thing I wish this drive had was a master power switch so I didn't have to unplug and plug it when not in use and when I needed it.

Nothing special, it does its job. It stores information. Incredibly slow. Do not have any expectations on getting files transferred quickly. BlackMagic speed tested at 35/32MB/s read/write. Takes a second to get spinning as well so instant access to files isn't happening. No complaints, it keeps my photos, videos, music, archived projects, etc. Just wanted to temper expectations.

12 TB. More than you’ll ever need. Right? If you’re like me you have tons of pictures and videos on phones, hard drives, computers, memory cards and more? Why not gather them all in one place. Then you’re gong to need a massive drive and you know you want to trust a name brand. This is your drive!
