Surprised to see a hard drive with this capacity. Was everything I felt I needed to store data from multiple devices. Paper that came with it was printed so small you need a magnifying glass to read. However, was very easy to set up and us without instructions.

Hey, it's a giant hard drive. One of the best price per TB you can find. It's a little difficult to remove the hard drive from the enclosure, and the sata power is the newer standard, so you might need to use a molex to sata adapter to power this drive.

This drive was bought to store videos and files that I wanted to keep and be able to locate them on one drive. It was plug and play and an easy setup. I did format the drive as I wanted it in pristine shape when I started to store data on it. It was well worth the purchase.

Five years ago, this same form factor could only handle 500 Gigs, now it is hitting 12 TB. Amazing storage capabilities in such a small form, all your multimedia files now have somewhere they can call home.

I bought this during Black Friday for $180 and it's incredible how cheap hard drives have become over the years. I always buy more hard drives every year and they're always increasing the capacity. No complaints about the drive and Western Digital is known to be reliable as well.

Using to back up basic files that will rarely get accessed in a failure only scenario. Or in case I want to change a raid array and need to backup the files on them. Just like any hdd there is a risk of data loss or corruption. 130mb peak transfers, being 12tb the density is high which gives you faster read/write but slower seek times. It seems to be serving it's purpose well, I added mine to a wifi switch so I can turn it off when not in need of it via my echo. The less it spins the longer it may last, with the faster read write it may be a good fit for game backup on a ps4 or xbox. There are anecdotal evidence on the net these are WD Nas Red drives, which have a very high MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) rating. If that is the case the drive may be a good choice for shucking but you would void your warranty. I have not opened mine as of this review to examine, but now that I do plan on keeping it I will more than likely in the future.
