Catch it on sale and you get a good value. I have not had any storage or transfer issues but the device does make an odd, soft clicking noise while sitting in standby. Hopefully it is not a sign of premature failure.

I bought this about a month ago & it has been well worth the price. It's quiet & file transfers are quick. Really easy to use, basically, plug & play.

Reformatted the drive for Mac. I don’t use the WD backup software so I cannot comment on it. It’s been great to have a large hard drive to store pictures and videos without vibration Or spin up noise.

Excellent product, if it was cheaper I would give it 5 stars.

This is a nice device to store my movies, 4k videos from cell phone and old photos. Also good for any backups.

I use this in my man cave to store all my movies. it has to be plugged into an outlet so its not very travel friendly but it serves the purpose.

got it when it was on sale, best buck you can get per TB. it is a white label. it does around 180MB on both read and write on MB SATAIII.

I have had many smaller WD portable and back up hard drives. Seamless transfers, reliable and quick. Excellent item for extra storage..

Media store harddrive, it’s great for the price I’m using it as a media server with Plex. It’s not SSD but works for me

I got this on sale. It has plenty of room to backup my desktop and laptop, along with my wife’s laptop. I use the rest of the space for our iTunes library.

WD easystore is exactly what i expect from Western Digital big in storage soundless and very easy Recommended product and will soon get an second one

Bought one on sale. Pulled it out and had to do the tape mod, but drive works perfectly. No issues and put my old drive in the enclosure and that works fine too

A basic large external drive. No frills (no NAS functions) but for pure storage the WD easystore family is as affordable as it gets. Just wait for them to be on sale! 10TB and 12TB on sale are the bank for the buck winners right now.

Bought this drive for $179 so I could store large amounts of satellite imagery of the USA for a flight simulator system. Perfect price for a perfect solution.

This drive is very fast (although a little slow coming out of sleep mode). Make sure you connect it to a USB 3.0 port for best results. Pros: - Large capacity for a decent price (Be aware that it is 12 TB RAW storage, not TiB. The actual space is approx. 10.8 TiB (90.9%). - Very fast transfer speeds. - Compact design (for a 3.5" size drive). Cons: - Micro-USB 3.0 connector on the drive. These things are fragile. A USB 3.0 type-B connector would be more sturdy. It would be even better if they would come out with these drives with Thunderbolt ports on them, but I like it so far.

Glad to have a large drive for backup, but unfortunately the software that comes with the drive and packaging did not match. Software was for another model. This drive is made for Best Buy and so all the functions for backing up were not there. Over the past month or so WD has done upgrades to correct so you will have to be patient and do software upgrades immediately on first installation now before any actual use. The 3 stars is an average 5 for a big well priced drive and zero for software not ready after purchase. Recommend - yes if you need a big drive. The quality issue is software and also ease of use as a backup was not out of box ready.

I have bought 6+ of these from different retailers. They all have yet to fail. Used 24/7. Great reliability having them for years now.

These are my go to drives for my unRaid servers. Shuck em and they just work. Run a little warm, so be sure to have proper cooling.
