very slow I bought for back up but the backup rate is very slow

This is by far the best value that i have ever had for the external hard drives. I have bought many each one bigger than the last. I has ample space for all the files i have to load to it.

Works great at first but if it fails without a backup you’re screwed. After mine failed, I sent it to two of the top data recovery places in the country but no one could pull the data because it is a helium drive. Avoiding helium drives at all cost from now on.

I bought this to back up my other 12T. I would have hated to lose 12T of photos. Was on Deal-of-the-Day sale, so the value was "excellent." Otherwise I would have rated value only as "good."

Great value when these go on sale. I have been filling up my Unraid Server with them and replacing my smaller drives. You can easily pop them open by hand and they're white label WD drives.

Bought this to use for backing up my NAS. Has not received heavy usage but reasonably good speeds and nice form factor.

I just upgraded from a Seagate 6tb as I have expanded my video collection. From moving files from the old drive to this one to constantly adding new, this drive performed beyond my expectations.

I ordered two of these drives and had an issue with one. Despite both of my drives being ordered as New, one had clearly been tampered with and was only coming up as 160GB. The return was easy enough, but be aware that even if your order new, you may receive a used and tampered product.

Perfect data backup to go with my growing movie and music collection. Wish I had gotten a larger capacity because it’s 3tb from almost being full.

I bought this during Thanksgiving sale. This is one the best hard drives I’ve ever bought and used. They say you can also shuck this off and attach to NAS drives which is more cost-effective.

I upgraded from a 2tb hd for pictures and videos. Bought during the Christmas season, it runs silently with occasional white light flickering during activity. I’m happy with this purchase.

No issues plug and go external hard drive for $180 around CyberWeek. Size is 12 trillion bytes which is really only 10.9 TB after formatting and conversion to base 2 terabytes (2^30).

I had purchased this on sale and thought I got a great price which I did. The unfortunate part is that it doesn’t include encryption software and I ended up returning it since that was a major criteria for me.

Good price. I use for an apple time machine. I reformatted it 1 2 3 and set up time machine with it. NO ISSUES AT ALL. I should have purchased 2 of them.

The sounds that came from the unit did not inspire confidence. When I plugged it into the PC and the power outlet I let it sit for a few minutes to get started up. I noticed the sound of the platters spinning up and down over and over again and the sound of the heads resetting as well. I just had an internal HDD die on me and I lost a lot of data so I need a reliable backup drive and this just didn't sound like it was going to be a long term solution.

Purchased this WD Easystore 12TB Drive on sale after good experiences with the previous 10TB & 4TB versions. The first Drive I received would not mount on my Mac. I tried different USB cables and even my WD 10TB power supply, all to no avail. I also had major problems with WD Utility App crashing. Did 3 uninstalls & reinstalls, again all to no avail. I thought the HD may have been damaged in shipping as drive came inside a larger box without any air-gel protection to stop movement. So, I just exchanged for another 12TB Easystore and spent another frustrating 1.5 hours trying to get my Mac to see it. It still will not mount, Disk Utility doesn't see it & WD Utility App just keeps crashing. Something is terribly WRONG with these Drives. There have been posts on Forums that reveal some of these are actually 14TB HGST HD's formatted for 12TB. Not sure if that's the issue but after another fail, I'm returning this for a Full Refund and grabbing another Seagate Hub. YMMV.

I have many different brands of USB backup drives but this drive gives me the fastest storage of any of them. It works well and I am pleased with its' performance.

When the electricity went out right after purchase of this device, it provided great service for a back-up. Recommend highly.
