I used this WD Easystore 12 TB External HD to replace a 1 TB HP that was full. The first issue was that only 10 TB would show available instead of 12. I had unrealistic expectations in hoping that 12 TB would relieve some of the pressure off of my system storage and free up some space and increase speed. It takes me much longer than before to access files or do the stuff I used to do before the change. I would go back to the old one is wouldn't be such a pain in waiting another whole day to transfer my files.

I bought two of these drives expecting them to be atleast 11TB, however even more space is missing. Overall it could be more accurate instead of misleading.

When this devices connects to my computer the mouse stops working.

It’s not so much the fan that’s loud as it is this thudding noise that it makes when it kicks on. Other than that it’s your average external. Nothing special.

Two times this was bought, two times it had wrong drive inside. Wrong brand and wrong size.

Got hosed with this one. The product appeared to be sealed but was actually a 1TB mostly dead drive.

I love that this has a ton of space on it. However, i am having connectivity issues with my iMac.

The software should include the feature that allows incremental backup.

Don’t expect these things to work anywhere near as fast as a G drive ... these drives are fine for storage, backups, and archiving. Don’t expect them to work seamlessly with video editing.

Bought as Deal of the Day. When plugged in, it made some clicking noises but would not spin up. Wanted to exchange, but local store had none in stock. Was told I could return and reorder (but of course then I would be paying regular price).

I purchased this external drive about 3 months ago and have already sent it back on a RMA to WD for drive clicking noises and unable to access the drive. This is the fear and downside of these large drives, relying on them as a backup for all your files and them failing. The price( on sale $190) gives you the illusion that you’ve paid for a reasonably reliable drive for backup/archival purposes but this failure was not expected less than 3 months of service.

Very fragile. WD drives don't last as long. If you drop it, the disk is dead. This is not true of other companies. Only time it is worth buying is on Black Friday. Works fast though

Horrible CS from Best Buy. Ordered drive but didn't used immediately. 2 1/2 weeks later, went to use and it is DOA. Drive failures happen, but BB return policy is 15 days and WD wants to send me a refurb. Learned my lesson to never buy from BB again. At least with Amazon and other sellers, one normally gets 30 days before having to go to manufacturer.

This is a very slow device, especially if you are using it for backups. Took me literally 2 days+ to copy around 7TB of data with small files. Not recommended

12 TB is a lie, it's really 10.9 TB that you're actually getting. At the very least, it should be sold as an 11 TB unit.

I returned this one because just configuring it to Mac OS was giving me some trouble. It may be perfect for pc users.

This product did not meet the expectations. Wanted to return this product and try any other External HDD.
