I plugged this external hdd to my computer and it is not 12 TBs as stated, it is only 10 TBs. Not to happy about this!

If you are looking for a shuck-able drive, That is plug and play this isn't it.

Started reallocating sectors almost immediately causing very slow access times.

I am annoyed that you are sending these e-mails for review when they are gifts for others. Now they know what their gifts are. Great going Best Buy. Ever thought of turning off these sorts of e-mails when you have to know that some of them are gifts for others. Perhaps not send them until the beginning of the next year. After the holidays.

this is 10.9TB drive, its not worth it to buy this

Simplistic “plug-&-play” USB 3.0 transfer speed for data storage or computer backup. Very competitive price, and highly reliable Western Digital hardware!

I was hoping for great Space and speed, got neither. I tried to backup with Novaback 19, Norton 360, and True Image 2020 and they all fail midstream, back to my trusty 8TB Seagate drive and this to the vendor for selling junk.

I have been using these hard drives for years without any problems. They are a great for backing up large amounts of data.

this hard drive broke in a few months of usage. its poor quality and try to get it fix via warranty, it's painful.

Fast and works great, Plugged it in right out of the box and it started working without any hassel.

Just got mine today. Think most people would like to know that of the 12TB you're only getting 10.9TB due to the rules of NTFS formatting. The product comes with an installer for WD Discovery but doesn't necessarily need to be installed. I installed anyway since I couldn't find reviews on the software saying anything about bloatware. Seems to have a cloud system but haven't tried it since I'm satisfied with Google Drive right now. Cables are of decent length. About 1.5ft for the USB and 4ft for the power. Overall pretty straight forward product. Just plug the cables in and you're good to go.

Died just after a year of normal use. Don't waste your money.

Get the protection plan. They are not reliable. Mine stopped working after about 6 months...

It says Mac on the box. It’s not formatted for Mac. Only500gb on the 12TB was available. No troubleshooting would fix.

Great price per TB for storage. Drives have held up quite well.

Returned didn't work not even turn on maybe damaged

The WD Easystore External Hard Drive does its job very well. The transfer rates are very constant when writing and reading. I was able to get this product on sale for a good price. However, I've noticed the prices have increased over the last several months to start 2024. I would not recommend the higher prices, because there are other brands that perform just as well for lower prices. It is particularly disturbing the way Best Buy claims this item is now sold for a higher price in order to falsely lower the price as a "Deal of the Day." In reality, the "Deal of the Day" prices now are what the manufacturers suggested retail price was before.

I have two of these (12TB) and use them for my Plex server to watch in my bedroom and they work perfectly. Will surely order more in the future.
