The drive is quiet and faster than the brand S drive it is replacing. The fact that some people buy this drive to "shuck" it for the physical disk inside is a testament to the quality of the parts used.

It was works as it said it would. Every now and then i can hear a faint humming sound, but other wise no problems. I have not set up over the net use yet but as far as saving and recording it does well.

Overall this product does exactly what I need. I use it for saving audio books, TV shows, movies, etc. Unfortunately, as a previous reviewer stated, a significant amount of the "available resources" are taken up by something else and the full size was not available.

So far it has had no problems and is fast, quiet, and runs cool. A great backup drive with plenty of space. I only wish it was not glossy plastic as it is easy to scratch and show fingerprints.

Probably a 5900 rpm drive that moves a littlw slow, but for normal use is a fine drive.

It has the space for what I needed it for. I love it.

The external hard drive works seamlessly with my iMac. I've been looking at this unit for months waiting for a great price. Happy with the transaction and it works as stated.

Purchased 2 t make a JBOD initially, but will grab a few more to use as a RAID setup for well, whatever! The only draw back is they are only 5400 RPM. But slow and USB3.1 still keeps you in the race.

I have had no problems with this in the short time I have had it. It booted up quickly after being plugged in and had performed perfectly in the three weeks I have been using it.

It works well and is quiet enough. It's pretty fast. The price fluctuates on these units quite a lot depending if they're on sale. On sale, they are a good value, otherwise I'd buy a NAS drive and use an enclosure instead.

Excellent for shucking. You lose the warranty (they send you a busted refurbished one anyway) but you gain better cooling and life span.

Love that external drives are finally increasing by leaps and bounds on storage. I use as backup of smaller external drives.. can never have enough backup of a backup too! WD has earned my trust for a quality product. I do not recall ever having a DOA drive from WD. Like that WD offers online registration and lookup of when my warranty expires. Hoping that harddrive pricing to drop a bit, but seems to stay up there, but periodically am getting more storage for the same price.

For the price this is an excellent backup solution. It's a bit noisy but works well pretty good transfer rate on USB 3.0 getting read and write of around 118 Mbytes per second. But the warranty is a bit lacking only one year :( for that one less star.

Decent if you have an older computer (2020 or older), and does have a ton of storage. It doesn’t feel like the most durable drive. Would only consider this a “backup of backups” drive as it doesn’t feel like it would survive that long. Slower data transfer speeds than newer external HDs like GDrive/Lacie. Super slow compared to external SSDs.

Top of the line product, make sure you guys are all taking advantage of best buys programs. Sometime you got to give a little more but sometimes you get more back you guys
