This hard drive is very easy to use and allows for lots of storage at a very reasonable price.

Bought it for my partner as a Christmas present. He loved it. I am not sure how well it works; but I’m going to give it five star anyway.

Perfect drive for backups. Some customers complained about "knocking" noise. Mine performed flawless on integrity check and data transfer.

This thing is perfect for backing up all of my files. So glad I made this purchase.

Bought six drives, started testing 4 of them, all 4 that were tested failed. One of them made grinding noises as soon as it got up and running. The other 3 passed the WD quick check, but failed the “complete drive test” I know that Best Buy will exchange these drives, but I have no confidence in them (drives) and don’t have the time to give to these drives for testing just to find out they fail. Paid $200 a piece, which is a great price, but if it fails WDs own software diagnostic test before even putting data on, they’re worthless to me. Didn’t even bother testing the other two drives, 4/6 failure rate is enough for me. Saw another persons rating saying they had same experiences with one of the drives and thought that must be awful luck, but appears these drives have some serious issues.

Well, the prices of large hard drives have gone up. But at the time of purchase the value was excellent. Very happy with the quality, quiet operation.

Fast file transmission speed, quiet and cool while running. Able to automatically turn off power after disconnected from the computer.

plugged in and just worked. management software is included on the drive. fast enough to host 4K video at full speed with no issues.

I am quite satisfied with this purchase. I have added this drive next to my WD easystore 8TB drive which I have had for over two years.

No issues with this device. I'm storing multiple 100gb files on this system and I have not had any issues with access or speed.

Best place to jumpstart having the current highest non industrial consumer memory bank. Worth the price for how much space you will have and almost never use up, unless you are using it as a console external hard drive (looking at you Warzone). If you want more memory by 2 or go pay for a subscription to the cloud or something, otherwise this is one of the best options available so far that ive found.

I bought two of these on sale, and it was a good deal. When I plugged them in, they computer had a hard time recognizing them. They finally settled down and now serve my music on my HTPC. Extremely quiet!

It is loud and vibrates. I'm not sure if they are all like that or if I got one that has this issue. Otherwise, can't beat the price per TB.

I have had several of these and in my experience 1 in every 10 comes out of the box DOA. It is a good idea to run a slow format right out of the box to stress test it. If it takes a good slow format, then it should be fine.

Been using this Ext. for storing pictures, videos - which I would stream to Pc or TVs. So far the performance is good, have only used about 50GB thus far. The only issue I'm having is that at random times the Ext. would disconnect and not be readable on Pc or any of the TVs, the white light will stay blinking indefinitely. This does not happen all the time but is annoying. The read speeds are decent, take a couple of seconds to load thumbnails when browsing through the library- making me have to wait for the drive to catch up before scrolling down. So far it's alright, nothing special
