Huge size, I bought on sale for approx $189.00. That's hard to beat. I have used Western Digital drives for many years. Never had one fail. I will buy again if I have a need for that large of a drive again.

I love these things. Ive bought six of these easy store external drives. They have all been great. The very first one i bought (3TB) used on amazon. It was nearly 3 years old when i purchased it. It lasted me another 4 years before it died. Life expectancy for a hard drive is 4 years. So im extremely happy. Since then ive bought a 4TB, 10TB and three 14TB easystore drives. Ive also bought several WD my passport drives. Ive been very happy with WD. I currently have my three 14TB drives installed in a Synology NAS.

Great external hard drive that lasts!! I've had many of these and have never had a problem. You get what you want.... tons of space for a fair price. These are fast hard drives also.

Apparently a slight click is normal

I bought this drive twice. The first one, after I transferred about 5TB to it, had a click that I noticed that was subtle but definitely there. I brought it back as I was concerned that there was something wrong with the drive. I got a new drive in replacement and then started the same data transfer and sure enough it started clicking as well. Then I searched WD support info and found that apparently slight clicks are normal operation for this drive. The drive has been running on my home NAS since then without issue. I put it in a cabinet so I don't hear the click and everything seems fine; no SMART errors showing up in logs. We'll see how it does long term, I suspect I might replace this drive sooner than average just to be safe. It took me quite a while to need a drive larger than 8TB so I may well replace this with another 14TB or so when Black Friday comes around again.

I purchase these drives to "shuck" to put for mass media storage. They work great for that, inside are white label OEM Western Digital drives. I've been doing this for years, its the best value per TeraByte you can get. However, it comes with risks. Opening them up voids the warranty so when they do die, if they die within a standard drives warranty range then you'd be better off buying a WD Red or Blue. But for cold storage, low frequency use and high data requirements, these are the best deal you can buy. I bought mine at an average price, but if you wait they can go on sale a lot and when that happens you won't find a better price for mass storage.

Mega Storage. I buy these and shuck the shells. I use them in my NAS and they are great. 14TB for $200.00 is fantastic. I bought four during the sale and wish I had bought more.

Not sure why people say it's noisy. Just put it on a paperback book or something. I can't hear it from where my computer is. Great for storing Steam Games, Origin, etc.

Very good & reliable external drive. Plenty of space. BUT WHY DO THEY HAVE TO BE SO EXPENSIVE! It's a good product. I've purchased several. Never had a DOA or any issues with these drives.

    Good back up storage only

Good for storage and a backup drive mostly. It doesn't handle 4k pro video or high quality photo editing very well. I use other drives to edit for video and then use this drive as storage. So it's a great price for backing up video and other big files. Don't bump into th epower cord where the power or usb comes unplugged before exiting file then what happens the drive crashes and footage needs to be transfered to another drive before you can recover and reformat. Has happen with over 4 of my WD drives.

Great backup drive. I only use Western Digital because of my using of various like Seagate which break down faster then WD, same as Samsung, Hitachi and a couple of others. WD has a good track record with me and comes free with backup software. You backup your entire computer 1st time then every hour it will check to see if anything new has been added to your computer and backup only those files (called incremental backup) no need to backup entire computer over every time only 1st time then only new files, music, pictures, videos and downloads. You cannot backup programs only data they save like outlook for email, quickbooks, quicken, etc...

great bulk storage for a reasonable price. It's not a fast drive because it lives on a USB port but for bulk storage of my video work it does the job. 14T at this price is a pretty good deal.
