A mysterious object, its sides extend in the precise ratio of 1 : 4 : 9. Getting closer to it created an understanding in me that was…extraordinary, as if my mind had evolved 1000 percent. I felt as though I had been on…an odyssey. Oh wait, it’s an external hard drive with an immense capacity. Especially for the price.

So far it is working well. Bought it just to back up from a 10tb drive and a few ssd drives. No complaints. Profile is fine for my desk. No excessive noise. It is working just fine on the outside of a Thuderbolt dock on a hi end laptop PC along with 6 other devices on the dock. It is way too new to talk about longevity. It worked out of the box just fine when I checked it out and then I did a format to rid it of the junk it had upon delivery. It is a fine working storage device in a system that gets its speed for daily use on other faster devices. Net - inexpensive external storage that is large and works.

I take a lot of photographs and I need a large hard drive to back up my images. This one is a good value for such a large drive.

DISCLAIMER: I am a Geek Squad Agent Works great. Not too loud, though you'll notice it if the room is silent. If you're using this with a desktop computer that has fans, you won't notice it at all. It's a CMR drive inside, and while a 2 year warranty doesn't fill me with confidence, the sale price was too good to pass up. Comes preformated to NTFS with some WD backup software on there, which I immediately got rid of, but you might find it useful.

Western Digital makes the best hard drives. This 14tb was quickly followed by the 18tb. I use them for backup drives. They are quick and reliable.

Easy to use, easy to set up, what is not to like? Using it for movie storage on my PLEX server running on my Nvidia Shield Pro.

Massive storage. Western Digitial has always been reliabke to me. $200 for 14 TB is such a great deal.

I use this as my holy grail of backup for my games,movies, software everything. Great product an love there wd server hard drives too. Besides that my kids played around my shelf and it fell 5 ft. Thought oh man grr. ....nope case snapped back in place hd still works no glitches. As a IT engineer i put alot of trust in western digital product for a reason. Ill buy another later with more storage.

This external hard disk is great to store your documents and useful data. It is very easy to use and provides excellent storage space.

Good: -massive amount of storage -decent read/write speeds for a mechanical drive -worked out of the box Bad: -too expensive, like all other computer parts right now Ugly: -fairly noisy, stick it under a desk if possible

14TB is the best TB per dollar I've found. Drive-wise, I've had no issues with 24/7 running, going on 2+ years with the 8TB version from WD and will now upgrade.
