WD makes the best hard drives hands down. While i love the ssd drives for the fact they are silent, with no moving parts, hi capacity isnt available yet in the range of 10 TB or more. As a pro photographer i need 30=tb plus at a minimum, and use redundant backups for my hd drives, and will always look for the black or red label series as the most reliable drives. Over the years, i had many other brand drives fail, to the point i wont buy any product that features them, cheap drives cost you more in the long run, loosing valuable data.

This hard drive is great. I use it as my storage for my Xbox one games. It’s super easy to setup and allows for tons of games to be stored.

Was so glad to purchase this WD easystore external hard drive for a near bargain price. This was something I could not pass up. There is so much hard drive space, I could split it up 3 ways to back up my desktop and laptop along with my mom’s laptop, or even clone one of these PCs if I wanted to.

This thing is just as advertised; nearly 14 TB of capacity. It's a bit slow (it's likely a WD blue drive inside), but this shouldn't be your every day access anyway, especially with how it will occupy a power plug. I'm using it for archival backups that I plan on performing every year; my everyday backup is still a WD 4TB (which ironically is now the same price as a 5TB, sad face), and that performs way faster with the smaller form factor, and doesn't need a power supply.

This thing has been great for filing my movies and videos. They basically all I have on there. The write speed is not slow but not fast either. It is fairly loud though, but I got it on sale and like I said it does what it needs to do.

So far I like it, but it does make some different sounds that I heard and wasn't sure what it was. It is the hard drive starting up when I login to my computer. So far it works great and seems to be plenty fast for what I am doing. I may move it to the other side of my tower to hopefully cut down some of the noise it makes. It isn't loud, but a noise that I hear. Some people may not even notice it.

Another year, another WD high capacity external storage drive. I've been buying these (10-16tb) drives every year for like 10 years now. I do photos/video, and use one of these for every year, and only that year. I also use a NAS, but these are a great backup for that. You do need to power this from the wall, so a 5tb passport usb only might be a better fit, but if you need more space and/or your ok having this stationary. Dont every buy not on a huge sale.

I got this for ~$200 on sale and ripped it apart and threw the white label drive into my computer. Cheaper than buying a non-enclosed red drive and not difficult. You might still need a jumper pin for these for that to work but I just use the sata-pwr to molex adapters instead.

At just under 2 hundred during Black Friday, this was an excellent value. On this unit, quality was an issue. It's been noted that these are noisy. In tandem with that, it rattled and clicked, leaving the impression that something was lose. It would have been a nagging medium/long-term concern. Returned and replaced with the same model which was just fine. Strange; both had different power cords/plugs. Thet were both thin.

Have had it for just over a year. It has been turned on all this time, and has been working well. It is plug and play and requires no extra effort. It is quiet most of the time. Occasionally it has a little buzzing but doesn't affect its performance.

Excellent Price For A Lot Of Storage Space

Works great and is a LOT of storage for the price. I always say I'm never going to need this much storage space. However, somehow life throws you kid parties and family vacations, all of which the related pictures and videos end up taking a lot of storage space. So this WD 14 Gb Hard Drive serves the purpose very well. I've always had great luck with Western Digital hard drives for well over 30 years. This one continues my high expectations.
