Western Digital is the only hard drive worth purchasing, have used many drives over the years and have yet to have an issue with any of the 12 WD hard drives we own. Our oldest WD drive was purchased in 2007 still going strong

These drives are easy to use and reliable. I generally use WD external drives when I need one.

Big boy external hard drive. My biggest yet. I am used to smaller, quicker hard drives, but I needed to house some media and transfer a few other hard drive's data. I did that, and I still have 77% space left. I still have much to do with data transfer but I am sure this juggernaut will be able to handle it.

Contains large amounts of data with decently fast transfer speeds for a HDD for a cheap price.

Easy to install, software included, huge space for the price. I almost missed this deal. So glad I didn't. I have used Western Digital since the good ole HDD days. They've served me well and that's why I'm sticking with this brand.

Works great so far. Have put about 7tb of movies on it with zero issues.

Cute and slim for it’s large storage size. The instructions were unclear if you needed to plug it into the wall as well as the computer to use it. Great price for the size, though!

Simple setup, and lot of storage. It great for back-up storages!! Now I feel safe from losing my files.

I use this as a local backup attached to my NAS (which also backs up to the cloud). Works great, no complaints in the two years I've had it so far. But it on sale, though. Never pay full price for hard drives.

I’m a long time WD buyer, although with these drives I hate how they have taken away or stopped using their SmartWare software to backup files. You gotta use 3rd party stuff, which isn’t as user friendly. Otherwise it does the job.

When ever the biggest capacity of these go on sale I buy a couple of them. Like others, I test the drive by doing a pre clear test, then if they pass, I shuck the case and add them to my Unraid server. This saves typically $150 over buying just the drives. I have been doing this for a couple of years with no problems. KEEP IN MIND: my review of these is based on when they are on sale... not retail price.

Fine disk with a ton of capacity for backups... Very inexpensive compared to most other big disk options...

Good buy for storage of files on my computer. Working good so far.

Excellent Drive, plenty of space, decent speed. The only down side I can find is that this Does NOT have a power on/off switch and is always on with your PC powered on. As A workaround I have mine connected through a USB hub which has individual port on/off switches. This allows me to use the Windows Safe Eject function to disconnect the device and allow it to sleep. If a built in on/off switch is important to you then you should look for the Western Digital version sold as a "Elements" drive I have numerous Western Digital drives (Green, Blue, Black, Raid Edition Re, and Gold) and have never had problems with any of them.
