Grabbed this one when it was on sale for $200 close to Black Friday last year. I was also able to get a 15% off coupon for recycling a defective memory card, cutting the cost even more. All in all, it was a decent deal for a 14TB for about $180 out the door. It's been chugging along as I consolidated a couple of 1-2TB externals I had into just this one external HDD.

This is a huge, reasonably fast and very quiet external drive. I had a lot of files on some portable hard drives that I wanted organize and eliminate duplicates and this drive really does the job. Reasonable price per TB. I've had consistently good luck with WD drives too.

This is a delightfully large storage device to collect various media files from several different computers to sort out my entire media library. After a few weeks of copying everything over, there's still about 4 terabytes free. The speed is good, but not great. Perfect for backing up a lot of media and moving it to another computer to consume. It'll be able to let you watch 1080p content, but it started to stutter when I was also copying files.

I have bought a number of these drives to use as off-site contained backups, and have been extremely happy with all of them, and had no issues. Best of all, since they are already in the enclosure, you don't have to worry as much about careful transport vs. a bare drive.

I'm not sure whether it's a problem with my PC but reading from this Hard Drive can be a bit slow. I also hear ticking sounds from the drive sometimes. I upgraded from a 5 TB Hard Drive for more space but I guess slower read times is the compromise. The 5TB drive was much faster. I can't imagine what people used to SSD drives will have to say about this product.

Run the drive checked from wd first. Passed for me but others didn’t have the same luck. Do the full test but it’ll take maybe a day or two for 14tb but worth it to make ur data safe from corruption or loss. Love the drive and capacity itself. Got it for 180 on sale so I would wait for a discount from the 200+ price.

Good product by a good brand name. Easy to install and holds a lot of pictures and videos.

Great device - easy to shuck and running along just fine with others in my NAS. These are my go to purchase now when I want to expand storage. In theory they should not be used in a NAS, but I continue to have no early failures and with 2 drive redundancy and backups - the risk is easy worth the cost savings.

Excellent Product, fast and reliable! I now only buy WD Hardrive's it is the only brand I have never had an issue with! I have been in IT for 20 plus years and have used pretty much every brand out there. In my opinion, WD drives are the best at every level from consumer-grade to enterprise-level drives.

IThe EasyShare drive holds lots of data and, as a backup drive, it’s perfect. I have backups scheduled for times that I am not using the PC (after midnight), and by the time I return, my files are synced. It may not be the fastest drive around but speed isn’t important to me.

An absolute steal for your storage needs! I use this 14 TB drive for my media server and haven't had any issues streaming content from the hard drive over the network to my home entertainment system.

Bought this on sale for 60 dollars less than I paid a month before, so now it's a great drive instead of just a good one :-) This is the 3rd one of these drives I have connected to my NAS servers (over a dozen WD USB drives total). All of them are working flawlessly.

I had a drive starting to show signs of going bad. This gave me more than enough space to store two of my older storage drives and is faster to boot.

Plenty of space for whatever you're collecting. It's best to wait for it to go on sale at $199.99, as it happens pretty frequently. This drive will be going into my NAS.

The WD Easystore 14TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive that I purchased from Best Buy offered very good value and came exactly as advertised. The product replaces my current Seagate 8TB external hard drive. I have also owned several other WD external hard drives. Overall the WD and Seagate external hard drives offer similar functionality, but I found the accompanying software from WD better designed and easier to use.

Excellent quality WD (almost) server grade drive inside this unassuming black case makes this an excellent candidate for shucking and popping in your NAS, and they’re only available at BB. I have several for movies, tv and music and have had no problems. Best for data storage, not so much as a primary drive.

The WD - easystore 14TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive is great. It don't take up much space. It is also very easy to set up and it has a lot of storage to use. I bought a second one so I should not need any more storage for a long time.

Excellent value if you can get at a decent price. I used it as a bare internal drive without the shell, it has standard SATA interface that can be plugged directly into the motherboard. Note that the mounting screws have different locations from the standard 3.5 inch drive, however.

Been using this for approximately 6 months to store excess games, video files and photos. So far it works great.

WD might have some quality issue. I bought a total of 4 units on sale at different times. The first 2 units I bought one of them was not recognized by my computer at all so I brought it back the next day. BB had no problem replacing the unit at all. For the high capacity and what I was using it for, to back up my files, I ran HDDScan to test each disks before putting them into actual use. It took a little more than 10 days to run a complete test. All 4 drives passed the tests with no problem. Not the same for my brother-in-law though. I recommended the same 14TB drive for him to backup his family photos and videos. One of his drives ended up with a lot of errors, basically a defective drive. So he brought it back to BB and asking for a replacement. The staff refused to give him a replacement and insisted to only give him a refund and he had to make another purchase with the than non-sale price. This is definitely a SHAME ON YOU to both WD and BB! For WD - the quality is definitely an issue. 2 out of the 7 drives were bad! For BB, this is a replacement, NOT a refund! This is a bad rep for the BB customer service! I felt bad in making the recommendation to my brother-in-law that ended up in such bad customer service BB. Do you think I would recommend BB and WD to my other friends and family?
