Good storage device for home. These are reliable harddrives for home use with a good warranty. The only negative is that they constantly get better and larger year by year so you can get a better one for the same price next year, but you can say that about almost all tech. I recommend this for home use.

A huge amount of space for the price it is unbeatable. Its practically silent. I wish it had a dedicated power button instead of turning on when the usb is plugged in to a device. Note that you actually get 12.7 TB and that is not a mistake. I do recommend.

So far so good! I watched youtube videos to learn how to use it with my mac. It has great storage capacity and works as expected. I like the drag and drop functionality. It's not to loud or distracting with lights etc. I would purchase again.

This is just what I needed. Something to set on the desk and house my video and music files. Easy setup. I'm using it for macOs, I had to download 2 pieces of software, and then that was it. Follow the prompts.

I've always used Western Digital drives exclusively, internal and external, and have so far never had a failure. Maybe it's luck, but I'll keep buying them. This one was plug and play as usual and catching it on sale was even better. Recommended.

Bought this drive and shucked the case. All 5 drives worked perfectly together in a Syba 8 Bay USB enclosure. Did not need to modify any pins in order for them to work in the enclosure. Would definitely buy more in the future.

This is a huge drive at 14TB and was easily shucked (removed from the enclosure) for use in my NAS without any modification needed. It was a good value vs. buying a standalone drive. It only spins at 5400mb, but that's good for longevity. I'd buy Western Digital over Seagate every time.

One of best storage size for dollar purchase when on sale. So far this is my third purchase of same brand and model line of item, all of them are different storage sizes. So far have not experienced any defects in any of the products. I do not use any of the WD application software.

Great hard drive for the price. Used the 15% HDD recycle program to lower the price even more. speed is around 200MB/s. The drives does get a little loud at startup (self check I'm assuming) but acts normally afterward. Overall, great backup drive.

1st one gave I/O errors so returned it for another. Very unusual for a Western Digital drive to be bad out of the box. The 2nd one has worked and performed flawlessly. Us it to perform daily backups on two different computers.

Great product if you need to store data. Need a outlet plug cause it has it's own power. Seems to be real fast on transfers at about 190 m/s. Bought several of these to store company information. Great alternative if you do not have the space inside your computer.

I was running out of storage space on my desktop. I had already added a 4TB internal drive, and already had an external eSATA drive (2TB). I was discounting using a USB drive verses an eSATA considering the 6Gbps of eSATA and wondering if that was the right move. I did the research, weighed the options, but ultimately the price prevailed, as at least I would have the storage space. Now that I have it, I can say that there is no question to go this route. It has performed flawlessly, for one. The CPU load accessing the USB seems to be less than with the eSATA, so the performance seems to be less intrusive. Also the real-world usage appears to be faster. I am using the drive to stream video to my Oculus Quest 2 via Link (USB) and have had no issues. If you have USB 3.x I would highly recommend this for a storage solution. I have not yet found a down-side. As an aside, this was a b-day present to myself (actually purchased *on* my b-day) :-)
