Very easy setup, I did reformat to APFS for use with Time Machine.

This drive has more than enough storage and works well for basic data transfers.

I bought a few of these hard drives before and they are pretty reliable.

The acoustics of this drive are absolutely atrocious, both in the enclosure and shucked bare. Seek noise while active and continuous PWL clicks while idle are insufferable. Previous WD white 8TB and 12TB drives ranged from very quiet to tolerable in operation, but this 16TB is way out of line. Do not buy if you intend to use it for active storage on a desk or even in the same room; the noise will drive you insane. If you're are buying on price/TB alone, the only reasonable use for this abomination is for offline archival or shucking for use in an already noisy PC case or server rack.

Great hard drive lots of space might even get another

Perfect for size queens on a budget. This thing can hold a WHOLE LOT of data.

This hard drive was bought for my Xbox One X. I ran out of internal storage fast and had to upgrade. This is the largest size hard drive able to use on the Xbox One X. Very simple to format and install. I have over 650 games on it now and have about 7tb of space left to use. Very fast to download and transfer games.

Purchased for $350 before the prices increases on storage which is now $500 ( I would not pay this premium). Only a 5400 RPM drive. If you are looking for more performance I would check another product, but if you are simply okay with large slower storage than this will suite your needs. In addition 2 of the 3 drives I purchased had issues as they would disconnect and would not reconnect display re-plugging the data and power cable using various USB ports and power outlets. As a result I ended up returning all (3) 16 TB drives.

Excellent external hard drive..i have been buying WD externals for a while now..once in a while you get a bad one that goes dead in few weeks but lately they have been great..i still think seagate is better but this does the job too and you get a lot of storage!

I try to re new my hard drive Every November and I weas not disappointed with this version. One of the top models going right now, imo.

great selection very pleased. Sadly it's IMPOSSIBLE to reach the store on the phone and they lost a very large purchase - but the items I was able to order have arrived - hoping to set up new pc next week then hopefully all will work well

Bought 4 before the huge price hike! Supply and demand I guess but ouch. PS bought 50+ easystores over last 4 years and none with issues yet.

I may give this more stars later. This device will have to prove itself over time to be reliable. For now, it is very loud. It makes ticking noises even when it should be doing nothing. It is also quite slow. The trade-off for getting a price like this on so much storage space is speed. Finally, it requires a very stable USB port with power or to operate without glitching. I bought this device as a backup to video files and old documents etc. Like I said, time will tell how reliable it is. For now, two stars may be a tad unfair, but two and a half stars was not an option!

So far, great read/write times via USB. I havent tried to use it as a NAS but it does make a great backup drive for everyday use.

I purchased a pair to connect to my Windows 2019 server. System automatically recognized and backup software works fine on these drives.

I've had the 3,4,8,10 and now 16tb iterations of this. This one goes 200MBs! Much faster than the other ones I've had. I wonder how fast the 20TB goes.

Very noisy. Hope it lasts as plan to put my CD Music collection on it, with lots of time investment....

Good backup drive. Its a bit clicky and noisy on a desk though... Its scary but hasnt died so its a good thing. I used for backing up my system. Only 14TB usable...

This item arrived sooner than expected and it has made my home project easier. I had purchased other WD HD in the past and will continue buying their products in the future.

This external HDD by WD is simple plug and play, works with any OS. It's quite basic, just plug and store files on it.
