Drive can definitely transfer content quickly. Formatting was not difficult for Mac, but it is a bit noisier than I would like.

We love these drives and we will bye them again and for the price they are really worth it

So far so good it works great although makes your pc a lil slower but maybe other factors contribute to that, one thing is for sure: make sure the hdd sits in a solid firm base and doesnt get knocked down on its sides or fall on the floor, you will lose all your content, it def needs a more sturdy outer case, too expensive to my opinion

I purchased this as an external drive for my Plex server. It has run without fail since I added to my system.

This is a great hard drive. I have plenty of backup space for my home pictures and videos. It’s also pretty quiet.

I really like this humidifier. It doesn’t require any filters and it’s easy to fill.

Videos and photos take up a lot of room and this should help a lot. And you can always make more folders and files.

wd is reliable quality and works flawless, great value at the time on sale $250 for the 18tb..

The hard drive is mostly fair (good "value" for storage capacity), but the startup noise is going to keep me from ordering another or recommending it to anyone else. The hard drive spins down about a minute after starting up if it isn't in constant use, and then it spins back up a minute later with a 10 second long set of noises --- whirring, clicking, and grinding. I don't know if this is the light noise other users are referring to but I am going to have to unplug it except when backing up at night if this isn't fixable. I have a WD Elements and it doesn't do this. It may be a problem with the apparently cheaper-made Best-Buy-exclusive Easystore product line. Note that to use with Mac OS it has to be reformatted with disk utility, which you might well have to do anyway to update a HFS+ formatted drive to APFS. This process took me about 60 seconds.

I needed more space. This was on sale, so I got it.

14 tb wow. I'm using it as an external back up hdd. No issues. Not very loud outside the usual hdd sounds. Allows me to get rid of a bunch of internal hdds and reduce the power draw on my rig's PSU.

Used this to replace an older "USB 2" backup disk. Aside from holding more data, this one is also significantly faster (it's still spinning rust - so don't expect miracled).

Huge size and best price. Have been using western digital drives over 20 years.

Currently using this as a Cloud/Mass Storage backup. Runs decent for what it is... can't ask for more from a standard platter HDD on USB. Does as intended.. Only drawback is that it runs pretty toasty.

I've had two of these for a few years, now. They are great! Trouble free and reliable for backups and storage.
