Also quieter then my previous drives. If you need lots of space than this is the drive for you.

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So far so good it works great although makes your pc a lil slower but maybe other factors contribute to that, one thing is for sure: make sure the hdd sits in a solid firm base and doesnt get knocked down on its sides or fall on the floor, you will lose all your content, it def needs a more sturdy outer case, too expensive to my opinion

Noisy and cheaply built unit

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The hard drive is mostly fair (good "value" for storage capacity), but the startup noise is going to keep me from ordering another or recommending it to anyone else. The hard drive spins down about a minute after starting up if it isn't in constant use, and then it spins back up a minute later with a 10 second long set of noises --- whirring, clicking, and grinding. I don't know if this is the light noise other users are referring to but I am going to have to unplug it except when backing up at night if this isn't fixable. I have a WD Elements and it doesn't do this. It may be a problem with the apparently cheaper-made Best-Buy-exclusive Easystore product line. Note that to use with Mac OS it has to be reformatted with disk utility, which you might well have to do anyway to update a HFS+ formatted drive to APFS. This process took me about 60 seconds.

Cavernous drive for cheap

WD A+ QUALITY
