the unit is compact and easy to use. The plug an store feature allows for easy document and picture storage. We used this trusted device to store our wedding photos and family pictures...a great product for a reasonable price.

This is a good external USB3 hard drive but it has one "issue": If you open it, there's no standard SATA connection on the enclosed HD so if the external case goes belly up, you're pretty much hosed. That being said, anything you'd put on here will either -be- a backup OR -will- be backed up to another drive, right? (You don't let any of your important data exist on only one drive, do you??) I mentioned checking for bad blocks first but that's something you should do with -every- new hard drive you purchase! If it exhibits even one bad block, exchange it for another as one bad block will lead to more until the drive fails completely. This is not a complaint about WD drives! ALL hard drives from ALL mfr's should be checked in this manner before relying on them for your important data.

The Western Digital Easy store 1TB USB3.0 Portable Hard Drive has no software to use with Linux Mint 21.1 and I am unable to use it as a data backup for my system. I am trying to work with the manufacturer to get it to serve my purpose. The 7 port USB hub is working just the ways they and I said it would. I am very happy with the company's service up to this point. I will continue to try to get the spare hard drive to work as intended.

Geek Squad set it up as part of servicing -- which they didn't do. Seems to work well -- So far.

I bought this hard drive to add extra storage space to my PlayStation 4 since the internal drive was running out of room. It was a great price, easy to set up and format and have no issues. It has fit my needs perfectly.

I had a really old USB 2.0 external drive that was so slow and old. Switching to USB 3.0 was great and anything I need to transfer goes so quickly. Haven't had any problems with the drive over the last 6 months.

We bought this for the reason that my dad wanted a place to put all our families pictures and videos.

This is a fantastic external hard drive with a ton (okay, a terabyte) of storage. I don't think I could ever fill it up, but I'm going to try! It was simple to plug in and use right away.
