Well .. Hooked it up and I get a window from time to time but I have no idea if it is doing anything or just taking space on my desk. Beats me.

Loads additional programs during setup. Difficult to impossible to get rid of unwanted programs loaded

All in all it’s a decent product, just a pain in the tail to have to format the thing to be able to store your media on

Dvd player would not work with computer to read my disks. Geek squad had me install VLC media player so disks could be read.

I assume this item is working. I haven't needed to restore files to another computer yet and only did one back-up so far.

It wanted me to download a bunch of other things but it would not actually let me do it. then it would not connect. I could not just drop and drag

The item did not interface with my computer as easy as expected. I had to consult an IT person to get it to do a back up.

Since there is virtually no instruction on how to copy files from one HD to the external it was somewhat confusing.

Got this for Thanks giving in a deal. The data reading and writing in this device is slow when compared to new models.

It works, but just not worth the money, and should have been discounted since My lap top was downloaded and uploaded due to a hacking.

Not sure what happened to this but it stopped working after 2 weeks and bought a different one instead.

I take immaculate care of my things and somehow this drive totally crashed and and was totally beyond repair within a year. After going around and around In circles with customer service for months and paying for shipping, they did send me a replacement, but I have lost everything that was on that drive for good and I am weary it will happen again. Even just feeling the outside of the drive it feels like hollow plastic. You can just feel how cheap it is.

This drive is not plug and play. You have to download the app to use and even then not that easy. Either that or I'm missing something.

If you're in the market to back-up anything sizable, this might not be the unit for you. The transfer speed is about 28/mbps, too slow...

Bought for my Mac when I tried to install it would not work. Called the company and was told wasn’t compatible with the Mac

Cannot figure out how to use. Nephew told me to bring it over when I can and he's off and he will show me.

We were told that this devise would work on backing up data on my older mac book pro, but it didn't want to work with Apple.

Many reviews say that this compatible with mac, but it wasn't for me. The WD software you're supposed to use seemingly does nothing...? And TimeMachine doesn't recognize the hard drive. So I basically wasted a bunch of $ because I waited too long to try it out and can't return it.
