I stored my life time photos digitalize and digital just under 1B. The USB 3.0 speed is impressive while transferring a couple of 30 minute videos.

I have reformatted it twice to use it to record video. A full format takes about 10 minutes. It does seem to get a little warm while recording for an hour, but no problems

More like a Slow State Drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.At first I was pleased with the aesthetics and size of the External SSD,I tried it and for that first time that I plugged it into my computer…it was decent/normal,the files I was transferring to it were being moved at a pace of 150-300 mbps…but then the second time and or after that,the speeds were at a staggering 30mbps!!!,this was my experience and my review,thank you.

Read times are very fast. Write times appear to be faster than USB drives or SD cards but it depends on content (small number of large files write much faster than large number of small files).

ONLY BUY SOLID-STATE HARD DRIVES!

I had another Western Digital hard drive fail on me (I’m still bitter because I have a ton of drone footage on there, and at the moment it’s a paperweight for my home office. I will say I’m terribly paranoid of having the same inconvenient uncertainty that I’ll be able to recover my data, I bought two of these to have a second copy JUST IN CASE. Product is great! However… Customer Service speed sucks.
