Works fine, decent speed

Not super fast, but acceptable speeds. I've never had an issue with WD drives in general, although I think this is a rebadged drive and not actually made by WD.

Low cost, not the fastest transfer rate

It may be USB 3.0 protocol as advertised, but very slow in that regard. I've seen USB transfer rates of over 100MB/s, but this one drags at less than 25, and often drops to under 10. It's good for backups but not for daily use when you need fast transfers. It's also ok for streaming standard quality video from it, as it does keep up with the video player. I haven't tried any HD video of blu-ray quality. Recommended for sparse use and backups. Also, the locking mechanism was a bit difficult to lock in place.
