Large capacity, small foot print. This one does not have the built-in encryption. To those who don't know, if the PCB is dead, your data on that drive will be lost because the encryption algorithm on the drive is married to that specific PCB. If you need encryption, use software encryption.

I bought one for my PS4 some time ago. This one I purchased for my Xbox. Both have been working great. I have zero to complain about. Both systems recognized them, formatted them, and I was setup and using the hard drives in no time.

I primarily use this drive to store a ton of photos and raw files from my camera. I ran a full diagnostic test using WD's Drive Diagnostic and detected very negligible amounts of bad sectors. Then ran a full read/write test on it. It survived it all and looks like it will last me a while.

4TB hard drive is enough for me to back up all my computers for offline storage. It worked fine, and seemed to have good write speeds. Hard to predict how long a drive like this will last, but I have never had a WD external drive fail.

I got this to add more space to my PS4. It works perfect so far! I bought this for a great price on best buy's one day sale! You lose a small amount of storage after you format it. I was going to buy the PS4 specific external hard drive, but for the same price, I doubled up on storage.

I've got it for secondary TimeMachine backup, Superduper clone and expect to make backup copy of photos. Was able to format for Mac, partition the drive , set up TimeMachine and Superduper clone. Haven't made photo backup yet. Very pleased with the hard drive and Bestbuy transaction!

Compact drive that holds a large amount of data. Instructions are available on how to format for use on Mac and PC. My only complaint is that the USB cable is custom to this drive, so losing or damaging it means going back to WD for replacement. WD should be using standard cables.

It is a USB spinning disk, so set expectations accordingly. It isn't going to be anywhere near as fast as an SSD, but this drive is perfect for backups. It has been reliable, and the price was terrific.

I’ve been using Western Digital drives for many years and I’ve never had any problems with them. I bought this for my Xbox One and works perfectly. Just plug and play, format it to save games. I will definitely buy another whenever I start filling up this unit. Highly recommended!

Bought multiple drives to back up pictures and documents. So far so good. Drives are small and work as expected.

Fast, affordable, and plenty of room — I ended up buying a couple more from this line. Just make sure you know how to set it up properly if you're using a Mac (very easy process using the Disc Utility app that all Macs have).

I am using this 4 TB external hard drive as a backup with my MacBook Pro Time Machine. It is fast enough for keeping the backup current, plus it has a great amount of space available. The price was great too!

I use the hard drive everyday. I have multiple computers that I save stuff to everyday so the hard drive is getting used. And the portable hard drive is being used from computer to computer.

Love the size. Slim design for the size hard drive. 3.0 works very well on both my laptop and desk top. Great for transferring files/videos and pictures between computers Would definitely recommend.

I use this to store videos I edit for my youtube channel. Very easy to setup and use. I had all my old videos transfered onto this one within a hour or two. Much faster snd quieter than my older disk drive hard drive.
