this is great product, and a very cost effective when compared to usb drives. i have five of these drives, and had no problema with any of them.

I go through a lot of hard drives (storing media from video shoots) and WD is a reliable go-to option. I got this one, however, to backup my desktop at home (Time Machine for my Mac). I also got it at a great price (WD drives frequently go on sale). Highly recommend.

I’ve been a long-time fan of WD products and own several external hard drives. This one is another great device with solid build quality and hassle-free use. Bought as a backup for MacBook Air. It worked great once it was formatted for Mac. I believe it comes default formatted for Windows. I’ve never had a problem with WD hard drives before and don’t anticipate any in the near future.

Great price. I find them reliable than the other brands I have purchased before. This is like the 4th portable drive I purchased from WD.

I’m in marketing so my team and I deal with lots of high resolution digital assets including 4K video content. I bought one of these WD portable hard drives sine it was on sale at the time offering the best price for 4TB of storage. I was so pleased with the speed and performance that I came back and bought another one only days later. After a month and hundreds of gigabytes later we are still completely satisfied with this purchase. Chances are I will come back and grab a couple more soon.

Bought this on a daily deal sale. Very good price. Work great for extending my PS4 storage. Just plugin and go to the PS4 storage settings.

The differences between hard drive manufacturers tend to be minor, but I have had slightly better experience with WD over Seagate. This 4 TB hard drive was priced to move at an amazing cost per TB price point. The USB 3.0 connectivity is great for most newer computers that can accommodate the faster USB 3.0 transfer rate. But there is an important caveat that you should consider. USB 3.0 is quickly being replaced by the faster USB C standard (a.k.a. USB 3.1) and the even faster Thunderbolt standard (found on the newest Macs). If you don't need an external drive right away, and you intend to purchase a new computer with USB C or Thunderbolt ports in the near future, you might want to wait a bit before investing heavily in USB 3.0 products. While the USB C standard is generally backward compatible, it's only a matter of time before USB 3.0 transfer speeds seem slow and out-of-date compared to the zip of USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt.

This is a good ext storage option for ps4. I transferred all games and it works like a charm and freed up my space on the console.

The best I have owned. Very responsive. Plug and play and it powers up like crazy. Just bought it so I am looking forward to what the future holds with it.
