On the first day of use, I moved my computer with the drive attached off my lap to the coffee table, but the drive slid off and fell onto the carpet. Since it was writing, the drive failed. The Geek Squad said there wasn't anything they could fix and recommended I go to a repair shop. I lost the large data file I was pasting and didn't bother. Unless you need portability, don't buy a portable drive. Duh! If you do, be extremely careful with it.
