    It's nice have portable storage but the write speeds are so slow that you it will probably take 24 hours to transfer 500gb onto this harddrive.

    Initially love it. However with time, it seems to degrade in less than a year. It takes a while to load onto MacBook Pro and would not dock easily with Big Sur. Had to troubleshoot several times with Apple Tech Support to determine that it was the drive that was the issue. Reverted back to Catalina in order to use the drive. May need to transfer everything to a new drive for safety and back-up. The hardware itself makes a strange crackly sound when you hold it in your hands unplugged. Never experienced anything like that before as if the inside components are crumbly and crackly? WD- Please answer if you have any idea why that is the case. Thank you.

    I obviously didn't do enough research before buying this product. I wanted a drive that does encryption that is why I bought a WD drive. Nice drive but not what I wanted. I only gave it 3 stars because of this.
