Brought for a Christmas present didn't open or try yet

WD is usually a reliable brand, but this drive wasn't. It made clicking noises and gave me error messages. I actually had to go get another drive, copy everything from THIS drive, and reformat it.

I can't keep the harddrive active on my desktop. When my Mac goes to sleep, it loses the harddrive and I have to unplug it and reconnect. I looked online and I'm definitely not the only one. There aren't that many options, so I'll just deal with it.

I bought this when it came on sale on thanksgiving.

Data transfer rate way better than the competitors.

A lot smaller & lighter than expected. Works well.

i used it to back up a MacPro but it wouldnt work on a Lenova....but the box says it works for both Apple and windows 7. the clerk assured me you can do both on the same drive. thinking of taking it back but dont know how to erase it

Great deal! ...that's about it. I specifically bought this unit to store all my photos and music. This WAS my backup and it died on me barely within warranty. I am done w/ WD! To add insult to injury, the warranty doesn't include data recovery, which will set me back anywhere from $400 to upwards of $2k! Then, I have to pay for shipping to return it to WD only to have them send me a refurbished unit that won't extend warranty past the new one I had bought. Thanks WD! Thanks.

I bought this external hard drive to store all of my files because my laptop was on the fritz. It was easy to install, and it worked well for about 5 months. One day, it just stopped working. The sound was on, but the drive would not appear on my computer. I LOST EVERYTHING! which defeated the purpose of buying this drive to save my files. Totally disappointed! It's not a matter of replacing the malfunctioned external drive because the content I needed is already lost.

Works ok, so far- it will have done it's job if it doesn't fail. It does seem to want to quit on it's own at times and then inform me it wasn't put away properly.

It stopped working on the second day. It’s not built for very active use. It should be ok If you need to storage and read your files not very often.

I was under the impression all I had to do was plug it in and it would back up and if it’s backing up I have no idea where it’s going because it’s still empty and I’m not that challenged disappointed

This is a good drive but is slow. I could not find anywhere on the packaging or vendors website on the speed of the drive but I would guess that it is 5400 RPM. I would have rather had a 7200 RPM drive.

It's okay. I'm use to the ones I use to buy. This one keeps messing up. I've brought this as a replacement for the other one that messed up. Won't be buying again.

Bought this item with intent to transfer files from older non solid state external drive. As this unit has less storage capacity, I have yet to execute transfers.

Th 32GB flash drive has a blinking blue light that is so bright it can be very annoying, especially in dark rooms. Other than that, both drives are very fast.
