I got this product not realizing that you have to have the internet to activate it. My husband read it on the packaging after we received it so unfortunately we will be returning it. I realize for most that would not be a problem but I didnt expect this for an external hard drive

Good one but it only holds 3.60 tb remaining holds some space

Did not come with any instructions. Had to download to computer. Not very easy to set up to download files. Still trying to figure out how to get my files downloaded. I've followed the directions, but it keeps going back to the same previous steps.

OK for storage and copying files manually to the drive. Very tedious to use as an automatic backup device. The software is to clunky and limiting and difficulty to invoke and keep working.

WD declined to support password protection for this WD Easy store hardisk. This model doesn’t support WD security and utilities. So think before buy this hard disk.

The price is good, but there is no security program available to protect your data. I don't know if this model came like that or the one I got has this issue.

I have used this drive a handful of times in the past few years primarily to back up to other drives. Was having minor issues with the power port the last few times I plugged it in and this weekend it wouldn't power up at all. Lost 3TB of data, not happy. I wouldn't purchase the Easystore again. Love the other WD drives I have but this one doesn't seem as quality.

original price $200 too high got it in offer high risk of losing data and back up process not clear return policy bad - 15 days only.

I have had nothing but problems with this device. Since my original purchase back in November 2018, I have had to replace/RMA this disk 4 times. Yep 4 times. WD can't manage to send me a replacement that even works for more than a couple of weeks. I've owned Seagate external drives for years and rarely had problems with them.

Crappy Drives. Got WD 2 drives from Bestbuy 1 year apart, 4TB and 5TB. Both are troubling me. Slow read/write speeds compared to my older Seagates! Disappears from the My Computer every now and then too! Reformatted multiple times with no improvement. Stay away from WDs and stick to Seagates!

I've had at least 8 different portable WD drives similar to this one. They all performed well for years. This model, however, has died before the end of 1 year. It just refuses to be recognized. Seems this EasyStore line is just not the same quality as the other drives they make.

Suppose to be a plug-n-play, but have spent over half hour trying to install drivers and utilize, and it's still not operational. Instructional documentation focuses on Windows platform and WD website lacks resources. SO FRUSTRATED!!! Wish I had purchased a different drive.

I dont know what it is with tech support at best buy, but if you dont buy extended warranty what a problem, bought this new, set up went fine, transferred most of my photos. when rebooted after windows patch cannot access it. running circles with support. owned for only several weeks.

I purchased it last year. Copied all my data for backup. And now all data lost. Poor quality. It's dead, not working now. I won't recommend it. I should have listened to the reviewer last year who mentioned the same issue. Bestbuy should do some quality control.

Bought this as a replacement from the same other one that broke before almost 2yr mark. It's only been 3 months the device broke again. We haven't dropped it nor spilled anything on it. No electronic last forever.
