Horrible product and absolutely worst service experience. I was using only 1-2 tb of this device on average but the bugger stopped getting recognized on windows laptops few weeks after the warranty expired. Tried many data recovery software's but none worked. I checked with data recovery vendors who quoted me ~ 1000$ to retrieve the files and media I had on this device. luckily I took this device to India and technicians there tore it apart and retrieved all the data from it for few bucks. They told me that this stupid device cannot even be connected to computer sata ports like the seagate external drives do, so they had to solder and build connector to connect this to desktop sata ports. But all in all a pretty bad experience. WD support shunned me as the warranty expired. I have a seagate which is running for last 10 years without fail, and this was a big eye opening experience for me. Will never buy a WD again.

Western digital is the best in portable HDd. I already had 1tb but this is 4tb with combo pen drive. Excellent price. Thanks bestbuy for the price..

I bought the same 4tb hard-drive when it went on sale last year and was helpful in expanding my storage on the xbox. I recommend getting this when it goes on sale, especially if you need it for storing large files such as video games. This amount of storage should be good enough for most people to last them a year or more depending on how you use it.

Easy to use, fast data transfer and ample storage, however not sure if it was this particular or in general WD is reliable for long time, mine stopped working after 3 years exactly after warranty completed.

Western digital is a great brand of external hard drives. This is the third external hard drive I have bought by them. Hoping it satisfies me as much as the other smaller storage drives that I have.

Bought this for my ps4. Setup took all of 10 seconds.

I'm using it for external Nintendo Switch storage as well as moving large files back and forth between machines that are not networked.

Thought this would be a great drive to add to my home media server and the price to storage ratio looked extremely good ($80 for 4tb). Got it at the local BestBuy, came home and plugged it in. Go to open the "Read Me" file just out of curiosity on the drive before I format it and put it in my server, and boom; the drive bricks.. I guess it's a good thing I opened that Read Me file before I formatted and put media on the file. Would have been extremely disappointed if the drive failed at a later date with my media already on it. I have never in my life come across a drive that has died this fast. I'd say stay away though some people have left good reviews on it so I guess I'll say buy at your own risk? I'm gonna go ahead and return this and wait for CyberMonday to get a decent deal on a WD Red.
