First two backups filled half of it and went quickly. Throw in thumbdrive is a nice plus, but I seem to have those laying everywhere unused already, so didn't mean much to me and have not used it yet. With this capacity and performance, large drives are never coming back in my house.

A Good, bare bones USB powered drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased one of these in the past to act as a backup drive and it does a decent job, so I added a second when it again went on sale for what I considered an acceptable price. The extra thumb drive was a nice perk. These aren't the fastest drives, and I have had some issue with them not wanting to mount all the time on my Mac, but once they do mount, they work well. The lag time getting them to wakeup is a pain; but the price makes up for it as does get to delete yet another wall wart. The included thumb drive is a WD branded SanDisk and works just as well as those.

GREAT/EASY/PORTABLE Hard Drive!

I use this specifically for music, so i'm loving that it is portable and able to be used to bring with me anywhere to simply plug in and go! I HIGHLY recommend this item to anyone thinking of purchasing!

The My Passport models have been very reliable for me. I use them for backup everyday and storing my training videos. Download their firmware update software to make sure you are running the most updated firmware to keep drives more efficient.
