My only disappointment with it is that the plug seems to require a proprietary cable. However, I have not attempted using a standard USB wire - it may just operate slower. I decided to look at wdc.com for support information and their support article about physical connections seems to be outdated because it assumes that you have to plug in an AC adapter when this one does not require that.

I was a little annoyed in the beginning. Other than that, I don't see any significant issue. I have owned one from Seagate. I didn't have that type of issue as far as I remember.
